Last night was the first time in so long that my dreams weren't plagued with the pain of my past. Warmth embellished me and my body felt well rested for the first time in months. I dreamt of my mother, of the way the vanilla smell of her freshly baked cookies would waft around the house. The way dad would hug her from behind whilst saying good morning. It was a normal day, but normal was something I hadn't experienced in a long time.
My eye's slowly opened and that's when the smell I knew all too well, his smell. He wasn't here and the sweetness the surrounded me had dulled down enough to tell me he hadn't been here for a couple of hours at least.
Had he stayed with me last night? I couldnt help but feel embaressed and slightly angry at the idea of him coming in here whilst I am sleeping and not able to defend myself.
suddenly a knock on the door snaps me to attention. Before I can even reply in walks one of the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Her pixy cut black hair easily complimented her small face and pale skin. Her lips were plump and glowed a natural rosy red that would make any man swoon. But the one thing that caught my attention the most was her crystal blue eye's. They were the same the Alpha's.
"Morning Luna! Did you sleep well?"
I could'nt help but feel a large sense of distate for being called such a title. I wasn't her Luna; I sure as hell never want to be either. She was smilling brightly at me, her eyes sparkling with anticipation for my response. I wasn't going to give her one though. As nice as she seems, I can tell straight away she was related to Darius some how, her smell gave it away. Even if she wasn't related to him, I still wouldn't trust her, she's a member of this awefull pack after all.
When she saw that I wasn't going to reply, her smile faulted slightly, but it would seem she's not one to easily give up.
"Here, I brought you a change or clothes. Why don't you go for a shower and then we can go and grab some breakfast?"
My first instinct was to stay here, that way I wouldn't run into anyone. But then I thought about it, if I go down stairs I may just be able to find another way out or manage to seize an opportunity to run through that big front door.
I give her a nod, without meeting her eyes before grabbing the clothes that she had left for me on the bed and scurrying to the bathroom.
When I 're enter the room she's sitting on the bed whilst typing on her phone.
Her head snaps up in my direction and a large smile forms on her face."I just knew it would suit you! I didn't know you size but it looks like we have similar measurements!"
She all but exclaimed with glee. She was right about the dress being nice. It was a white summer dress that hugged my waist nicely as the skirt flowed to just above my knees in a delicate way. My hair was still wet but I didn't mind, I normally let it room dry anyway, that was my natural curls seemed to form better. Plus it wasn't like I was trying to impress anyone, I couldn't care less what these people thought of me.
"Oh right I haven't told you my name! How silly of me. I'm kiara, the beta of the pack, also, the better half of the Carlson siblings."
My eyebrows scrunch in confusion. If she's the Beta then what about that disgusting man? My thought where cut of as Kiara all but skips over to me.
"Right let's go!"
Before I could object she grabs my hand before pulling me out of the room and down the stairs. Despite my mistrust of this girl, there's a warmth about her that has me certain that her intents are anything but malicious. But I don't want to get too comfortable with her. She serves Darius, if he gave her the order I'm sure she would make me suffer, just as the past Beta did.
As we get to the bottom of the stairs I notice that she isn't turning towards the kitchen, instead she is leading me right to the front door.
"Um... where are we going?"
I stop walking as we exit the front door, apprehensive as to where this woman is leading me.
She turns round as realisation hits her.
"Oh yeah, sorry I forget to explain. The pack has breakfast together in the main house."
She must have sensed my fear because before I knew it she had engulfed me in a tight hug. I didn't pull away too shocked at her random showing of affection.
"Don't worry! No one is going to hurt you, you're their Luna, plus I'll be right there with you the whole time."
As she pulls away she sends me an encouraging smile that does little to calm my nerves. I've not met many wolves from this pack but, all the ones I have met, bare Kiara, seem rather ruthless to say the least.
