After an hour of eating and small talk, Jennie and Namjoon decided to go visit the nearby park to have a night stroll before heading home. Jennie hands out the car key, the one Jisoo left behind, to Namjoon who drove to the nearest park with ease as there were only a few people out on this time of the day.
Once they arrived, Namjoon gets out first to open the car door for Jennie who blushed slightly at his gesture before they both started walking around the park.
The weather was nice and humid enough, as the sun was about to set making the atmosphere more romantic than it already is. But the two were awkward, as it was the first time they've met personally and had time for each other. Namjoon rubs his nape as he glances the side profile of Jennie who was watching the sky change its color with astonishment making the young man smile at her cuteness. Jennie notices and so she stared back at him making Namjoon clear his throat as he looked away from Jennie's gaze.
"So..." Namjoon starts as he stares up at the night sky. "Tell me about yourself?" He asks as he stares back at Jennie who gave a smile in return.
"What's there to share? I'm pretty sure you've heard how the second daughter of Kim's is. Everyone has been talking about it for ages. Like how I'm good with this, with that, but nothing close to my Jisoo-unnie as I'm always just second best." Jennie replies as she clutches her hand bag slightly while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
Namjoon grabs a hold of her wrist, making Jennie face him. Jennie raises her eyebrow in confusion as Namjoon's face was void of any emotion and conveyed uncertainty.
"Hey-" Jennie starts but was soon cut off as Namjoon pulls her close to hug her tightly making Jennie's eyes go wide as she was shocked with his action.
"I may have not known you for a long time but what I do know is that you don't deserve to be treated just second best. You shouldn't be compared to someone just like your sister because you are two different individuals who's paths and fate are not alike. I may not have experienced the things you have went through but I understand how hard it must have been to be someone's shadow when you yourself could have shined in your own limelight. You are a star who deserves your own stage. You don't deserve to be treated just second best." Namjoon says as he hugs her tightly, making Jennie's eyes swell up in tears as she starts sobbing after hearing Namjoon's words of comfort.
"Shhh, it's okay. Don't cry Jennie-ah. Because from today onwards, you'll no longer be just an option. You'll be my first choice." Namjoon says as he holds Jennie's right cheek before landing a chaste kiss on her forehead.
