The Reconciliation

Today was the seventh day - the last day of Seokjin's condition for Jisoo. The day where she would tell her final choice - where she had to choose from staying with Seokjin or being with Taehyung.

Jisoo took a deep breath in as she approached Seokjin who stood at the usual spot he has been at whenever they would meet for the deal.

She cleared her throat to get Seokjin's full attention, making the young man turn his back to face her. As usual, Seokjin smiled at her which Jisoo responded a small bow like she has done since the first day of their deal.

Seokjin then released a soft sigh as he went to open his arms wide and waited for Jisoo to come closer and hug him as promised.

Jisoo casually comes closer and engulfed him in a warm embrace that lasted for a minute like how Seokjin had asked her to do.

As soon as the minute was over, they untangle themselves only to realize that both of them were already crying.

Both of them chuckled softly as they each had went to wipe of their tears away before facing each other again.

"So I guess this is it? The time you reveal your answer and choice." Seokjin said as he rubbed his nape and smiled at Jisoo who nodded as another tear escapes from both her eyes. "Must be a tough choice huh?"

"Definitely." Jisoo said as she wiped her tears again with the back of her hand and laughed shortly as she bit her lip. "But I already had made a choice. And I know that I am not making any mistake here because this is what I want for myself."

"I feel anxious to be honest. But whoever it will be, as long as you are happy - I will be too." Seokjin said as he pinched Jisoo's right cheek as he laughed and retreated his hand back. "So who's going to be Jisoo-ah?" He had asked her with a small smile as he already knew who it was from Jisoo's eyes.

"I'm - I'm so-sorry." Jisoo said as she bit her quivering lip and cover her mouth with her left hand as she sobbed harder. Seokjin engulfed her in a hug as he patted her back and hushed her - knowing what she was sorry for.

"It's Taehyung right?" Seokjin said as he let's Jisoo go, smiling sadly at her with tears in his eyes. "It's him you're choosing right?"

Jisoo looked up at him as she bit her lip and nodded once.

"You got to say it vocally Jisoo. Say it. It's okay." He said as he rubbed her cheek with his right hand.

"I chose Taehyung, Jin." Jisoo said with a smile as she said it again while holding both of Seokjin's hands. "And I want to spend a lifetime with him."

Seokjin smiles at her as he nodded while still crying before he patted her head softly with his left hand as he used his right to pick the folder that he tucked in his back. He handed out the folder to Jisoo who looked at him bewildered.

"It's already signed. I knew you were going to choose him over me." He said as he gave off a short laugh. "And don't look at me like that. I'll be fine - I promise! Just promise me you'll be happy with him? But knowing Taehyung, I know he'll make it his devotion to make sure he gives you his all. I'm happy for you both." He said as he continued to smile, yet tears still kept falling down his cheeks.

Jisoo just pouted at him as she playfully hit his shoulder.

"You do know you're still crying right?"

"Hey I said it's fine. But I didn't say I am not hurt." Seokjin said as he stuck his tongue out at her, making Jisoo laugh as he flicked his ear. "Yah that hurts more!"

And the two of them soon laughed out loud before they darted their gaze at the already setting sun.

"Hey Jisoo?"

"Hm?"

"I know you already chose Taehyung but I just wanted to know."

"What is it?"

"Am I already forgiven?"

"Of course silly. I already forgave you."

"Really?"

"Do you want me to stay mad at you?"

"No! But uhm - will it be selfish if I asked for us to stay as friends?"

"No it won't. I mean we did have something. Let's not throw it off away like that just because we didn't end up together. So sure! I'd love to be friends with you future brother-in-law!"

"Oh God you make me sound old!"

"That's because you are old silly!"

"Oh look who's talking!"

Seokjin said as he chased a screaming Jisoo away just so he could tickle her as his revenge for being made fun of because of his age.

Meanwhile from far away, a hooded man stood watching the two since Jisoo had arrived at the beach. He bitterly smiled as he watched Seokjin chase Jisoo out in the open until he successfully had tackled her down in the sand, tickling her relentlessly as Jisoo giggled aloud, pushing the man away while picking her bag and a folder up as both of them laughed again like nothing happened.

"I guess it's time for me to disappear and run away."

The hooded man said as he turned his back while using the back of his hand to wipe his tears away from his cheeks before he got inside his car and drove away while bitterly smiling - thinking that he wasn't the one chosen.
