"Hey babe - you alright?" Nayeon asks with heavy breaths as she turned to her side, watching her best friend, Rosé, sigh in frustration as she sat on the floor withe her knees crossed and her hands covering her face. Rosé just slightly nods her head in response to Nayeon's question as she releases another sigh of frustration. "Who you kidding huh, obviously you aren't okay." Nayeon said as she rolled her eyes and sat across from where Rosé sat, crossing her arms over her chest as she glared at Rosé, waiting for her to speak up.
It was Tuesday, and both of their schools had their classes suspended in preparation for an upcoming event. So the two best friends decided to meet up, and hang out - and by hanging out I mean by spending their time at the studio rehearsing a few dance choreographies.
It has been two hours since they were practising but Nayeon had noticed that Rosé had been a little off, either being distracted or being troubled. Nayeon was sure it was the latter.
"Rosé, please tell me what's wrong? You know how I hate seeing you like this." Nayeon said softly as her gaze softened as Rosé had looked up at her, her eyes glistening with tears - she was crying - and it pained Nayeon seeing her like that.
"Yeonnie - ? When will I ever be enough?" Rosé said as her tears continued to cascade down her cheeks, Nayeon rushed to her side and hugged her tightly as she rubbed soft circles on her back to comfort her as Rosé sobbed harder.
"What the hell are you talking about Rosé bear? You're already enough! In fact you are more than enough!"
"Then why - why Yeonnie! Why can't he love me back!"
"Did Jimin said you weren't enough?? Ugh - I swear I will -"
"He didn't."
"Then who, Rosé bear? Who! Tell me so I could chop their dicks or shove a broomstick up their asses!"
But Rosé only cried louder, making Nayeon release a heavy sigh before calming herself and talking to Rosé again - this time more subtle.
"Rosé, please elaborate dear. I can't help if I don't understand what happened. Please Rosé bear?"
"J-Jimin confessed indirectly."
"Confessed? Indirectly? About what my dear?"
"That he likes my sister - Lisa."
"WHAT? I mean - What? How? When?"
"He was sick with high fever that time, and I was caring for him while his hyung was away at work. While he was sleeping, he unconsciously pulled me close and had meant to kiss me thinking I was her - saying I love you before I knocked him out to sleep."
"That bastard - I swear."
"Nayeon please don't kill him."
"But he had hurt you!"
"But I - I don't want to see him in pain. I don't like seeing him hurt. Please Yeonnie, promise me you won't."
"Ugh - that guy is lucky I care for you or else I would have - never mind. Does Lisa know that Jimin likes her?"
"No."
"You haven't told her?"
"I don't want to."
"But why?"
"I can't."
"There's a big difference with you can't and you wouldn't, Rosé."
"She already has Jungkook."
"And so?"
"I can't let her have Jimin too."
"Rosé - you sound pretty selfish you know?"
"I know. And I am sorry. Just g-give me some time. I will tell her, some day but now."
"Okay, Rosé bear. But promise me you will."
"I promise."
Nayeon then pats Rosé's head as she goes to wipe off her tears. Rosé then softly smiles at her.
"Yeonnie. There's something I want to ask of you."
"And what would my precious little sugarplum need from me?"
Rosé giggled as she leaned closer and whispered in Nayeon's ear.
"Eh - you sure about that Rosé bear? Wouldn't that be too frisky?"
"Yes. Now will you help me with my simple request?"
"I am not entirely up for it, but if it is what you need - I will. But promise me you won't hurt yourself while you are away."
"I promise."
"Okay, I'll send someone to assist you with your plan. Just please be careful."
"Yeonnie - you worry too much!"
"Duh - cause I love and care for you, silly."
The two then laughed out loud as they once again shared a hug.
"Thank you so much for being here and for helping me out Yeonnie. I feel so much better now."
"Oh shut up - I know you still aren't."
"Please don't ruin the moment."
"But seriously, Rosé bear. You don't deserve to be just an option. Heck even as a substitute and much worse a replacement. You deserve a guy who loves you - and only you. Not as any one else. Not as the third Kim daughter. But you as Rosé. I hope you find that guy who will never make you cry. If he does - it would be because of too much happiness."
"Do I even deserve that kind of love though?"
"Of course you do, stupid! Every one is entitled to their own happy ever after. And you are no exception!"
"I just want to be loved Yeonnie - be loved, wanted and appreciated by a man who sees more than what the eyes could."
"You are one beautiful girl Rosé bear - any guy would be lucky as hell to have you in their life."
"Really?"
"In fact I would date you if I were born a guy."
"Ew - that made me cringe."
"Oh shut up! On the second note, I think I would be far too beautiful than you are even if I were a guy."
"Ugh - here you go again with your self appreciation Yeonnie."
"You know you got to love yourself more babe. Anyways, can we start off practising again or do you want to go out and have a snack?"
"Some break would be good. Can we go eat at the cafe nearby, pretty please?"
"Fine."
"Will pretty Yeonnie treat me today?"
"Ugh - only because you said I was pretty."
"Yay! I love you Yeonnie."
"I love you too Rosé bear."
After the two quit bickering, both of them grabbed their duffel bags and head out the studio while holding hands and smiling at each other.
Rosé was indeed really glad, Nayeon was with her that day when she had her mental breakdown, to comfort her. Otherwise she would have done something stupid and dangerous again similar to what happened seven years ago - when Nayeon had saved her from jumping off a cliff due to her depression when she felt disappointed in herself for not being able to play any instrument like her sisters.
If Nayeon was not there that day to stop her, Rosé would have not been still alive up to this very day.
