When lance was young he went through what no kid should.
And he thinks about it everyday.
Lance knows that he is being fake and over dramatic when he talks about his family to the team. But he doesn't want them to know.
That his family was killed.
Only hunks knows about this.
And he supports Lance. He knows how lance fakes stories about his family, and that he wakes up from vivid nightmares about that day, and that, if someone said something certain about his family, that it triggers his PTSD and he can have very vivid flashbacks.
Now the story..
I advise you to watch your heart rate during this story, as it can raise it. (There will be racial slurs, i will not put the full word, and i do not find any of it funny, viewer discretion is advised.)
Lance was just 4, and he was outside with his family having a BBQ that evening. They had the BBQ by their house in the alley.
Then all of a sudden what he called the "Band of Whities" came towards there family.
They were attacked by 17 men, all white, all racist.
They forced lance's family to their knees and tied there ankles and wrist together with rope, shoving gags in their mouths so they can't yell for help.
"Throw the kid in the cage, then we'll deal with these n*ggers"-Whitie 1
"Got it boss."-Whitie 2
Lance was thrown into the cage, but he was still able to see out of the slits of it.
He watched as each and every member of his family was killed, one. by. one.
Lance watched as they moved the bodies around searching for wallets.
Lance was sobbing, and choking on the gag. He passed out from lack of air because of the gag.
He woke up the next day untied and lying in the alley, his family members disgusting death stench coming from the dumpster further down. He had scars from the roping grinding against his arms.
So yeah, lance went through some sh*t.
Lance was currently 17, and in voltron as you know.
It was the anniversary day.
The day of the year when he stays in bed and mourns.
But he's in voltron, and they don't want him slacking off. Hunk knows why he's doing this though, he knows the story.
Lance was lying in bed as the alarm went off.
He just lied there. He decided he wasn't going to do anything today.
The team gathered for breakfast, and they wondered why lance wasn't showing up.
"Hunk, you know where Lance is?"-Shiro
"No. But i feel like i'm forgetting something. Pidge what day is it today on earth?"-Hunk
"It's Tuesday the seventh of July."-Pidge
Hunk went wide eyed.
"Hunk what's wrong?"-Allura
"Sh*t sh*t sh*t"-Hunk
Hunk got up and ran out of the room.
"There has to be something wrong, Hunk never swears."-Pidge
