chapter eleven

Spencer
I walk Toby to the door and say "That was good. We should do it some other times" he smiles "Yes definitely, so, when can I see them and you again?" Toby says, he wanted to see me too? "Oh, whenever you're free, besides Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon because Hazel has dance lesson, Daniel has football practice and Megan has draw course" I say "Oh, okay so what about Friday?" he asks "Oh yeah it's perfect maybe we could go to the park" I say "Yes, sounds good, here this is my new number, just in case." he says handing me a piece of paper with some numbers on it. "okay see you on Friday" I say as he walks out of the door and waves me. I never want to see it again, him walking away from me so I just open the door and see him walking away so I scream "Toby!" he turns around and see me crying, he comes back and says "Hey what just happened?" he asks worried "I- I just can't see you walking away from me anymore" I say, and he just hugs me. He hugs me with those strong arms that I used to feel so safe in, and I still feel the same way. I feel safe in his arms.
Toby
I don't know why I hugged her, I mean we didn't see each other for years but it feels the same way. It feels right, and good, great actually. I don't wanna let her go especially now. I feel a little awkward and I don't wanna meet her eyes, what she just told me was too painful, I shouldn't have left her that day and I would've hate myself for that and I don't blame her if she does. "I'm sorry I don't know what I was thinking" she says pulling away "It's okay" I say "Oh, yeah well, see you on Friday, if you still want" She says and I just nod before she slams the door in my face.

What was I thinking?! I am not gonna let myself fall for him all over again, for goodness sake! I just wanna sleep, I am so tired. So I just go to my room, put on my pyjamas and go to bed falling asleep immediately. I wake up and 4 babies run into my bedroom. "Hey guys! Are you ready for school?" I ask "Yes, you have to get dressed fast, we will be late!" Hazel says and I see them already dressed, they were really self employed and I was really happy about it, I get dressed and I drive them to school. On my way to work I meet Toby that walks towards me and says "Spence, can we talk?" "Yes, sure" I answer not making eye contact "Can we do it at dinner tonight?" he asks "Umm. I'm not sure what you're asking" I say still not looking at him "I'm saying that since I'm no longer allowed to go to Yvonne's house I'm staying in a hotel and I could use some company" he says, I think that maybe it's not a bad idea so I just say "Do you want the babies around?" "I would prefer if it's just the two of us we have some stuff to talk about" "Okay I'll figure something out, come over tonight at 7,30" I say "Oh, Okay, see you later then" he says. I go to work, and after I finished my hours I call Aria
"Hey Spence, how's it going?"
"Good, but I could use a favour"
"Yeah, sure what's up?"
"Could you keep the kids tonight? I'll pick them up tomorrow morning? Please, I really need this"
"Sure what time do I pick them up?"
"Omg, thank you so much I'll bring them to your house at 6,30, same address?"
"Okay, and yes, same address"
I hang up and sigh in relief, after one hour I go to pick the kids up from school, and tell them "Okay guys, tonight you'll go to sleep to Aria's house okay?" "Who's Aria?" Daniel asks "She's a friend of mine don't worry tomorrow morning i'll pick you up" I say, they try to change my mind but I tell them that I've already decided so they don't have a choice, so when 6,30 arrives I drop them at Aria's hugging her and thanking her, and then I walk back home. When it's 7,30 I hear a knock on the door, I go there and open it to see Toby standing in front of me. I let him come in and then we sit at the table talking about stuff. Then he asks me "Spence, will you forgive me?" I smile and say "I already did"
