The next morning, Leigh-Anne woke up early to continue her grand mission.
The girl reluctantly pried herself away from her lover to sit up and then stretched. She looked down at the sleepy little Jesy and smiled to herself before kissing her cheek. Jesy must be exhausted if she's able to sleep even after I moved away from her. Jesy had been holding her tight last night because of what happened. That.
Leigh held her stomach as she began to feel nauseous. Stuff such as that really disgusted her. Johnny was just awful. I shouldn't think of that. Today's about Jesy and her dad.
She climbed out of bed and moved to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face. Afterwards she left the room in her pyjamas and socks. She had changed her bottoms because of the blood on them so now her sleepwear was mismatched. It made her feel not as happy in them but that was alright. Jesy said that she still looked cute.
Leigh-Anne tiptoed as if not trying to make a noise since she believed that most people were asleep. She wondered if Jesy's parents were. Hmm I hear noises downstairs. She went to the railing and looked down to get a view into the kitchen. Oh wow. Jesy's parents are up. What time was it? She had checked her phone earlier and it was about six a.m. Guess they're early risers like yours truly.
The girl hurried down the stairs as quietly as she could so she could get to the kitchen. Their house was so large that it took her a while to reach.
Jesy's mother was wiping the counter down while her husband sat over a news paper. They had both been conversing about certain things when they noticed someone enter the kitchen. Both turned their heads and smiled at Leigh-Anne. "Hello there Leigh-Anne. Pleasant seeing you up so early this morning." Said Mrs. Nelson.
Leigh smiled and then went up to Janice to hug and kiss her, saying good morning. She then went to John and did the same. "You guys are early birds quite like me aren't you?" She started looking for how she could help out.
"I suppose we are. We like waking early so we don't miss too much of the day. So much can be done you know?" Said Jesy's dad fondly.
Leigh smiled at him. "And that is exactly what I keep saying to Jesy." They all shared a laugh. "What are we making for breakfast?"
Janice told her and went on to explain why they gave the chefs and butlers a break. It encouraged bonding and togetherness and Leigh-Anne agreed with that.
"Can't help but feel like it's Christmas. I'm always dressed in my jammies around here." Leigh-Anne said while chopping onions now. Janice was preparing something next to her.
The parents laughed. "Don't change out of them if you don't want to dear. You look so cute and comfy." Said Mrs. Nelson.
It always amazed Leigh how kind Jesy's mother was. Jesy was so . . . Jesy. "Ha ha ha I can't stay in them everyday I'm here don't you know?" She giggled and then tried to think of a way to ask her next question. "Hey Pops?" It's for Jesy.
The man looked over his news paper at Leigh-Anne. "Yes dear?"
Leigh-Anne smiled. She had explained to them about the in-laws thing already so they go it. "I couldn't help but notice that . . .you and Jesy are kind of . . . I don't know . . . distant to each other?"
Janice paused in her actions to look at Leigh-Anne. She then glanced at her husband.
Leigh hoped she wasn't being rude.
John cleared his throat. "Distant you say?"
"Well . . . yeah." Leigh-Anne looked at him, away from what she was doing.
