Naihal looks breathtaking, the pink and silver embroidery dazzling in the spotlight. Jennifer thinks she looks princess tonight. With that bright smile and engaging laughs, that can pull in anyone to her. She looks happy, full of life as she snuggles to her now husband, as she greets everyone that drops in on the stage to congratulate the couple, smiling and laughing with everyone.

And Jennifer knows she is happy although, she is glowing with happiness. And for the first she saw a person literally bursting with happiness. She smiles can feel it in her bones and she prays for the happiness to stay as it is with them forever.

She looks around already late for the night, one earing still in her hand, and she looks over for him. Searching along the throngs of black, blue and grey coats, looking for him. Their last escape still pretty much in her mind. After they had gotten out they had both made their way in different direction.

After the first one hour she hasn't seen him around much, just the occasional appearances here and there when he was helping with the arrangements for the reception tonight.

Jen puts on her earing while looking around and her eyes falls on Naihal whose eyes are now boring into her. She makes hand gestures to come on the stage. Jennifer shakes her head politely, wanting to meet Harshad.

She gestures she would meet later before going for them missing Naihal's worried look for her.

She spots Aj with a girl and decides to ask him hoping he would know about Harshad. She goes behind him pats his shoulder making him turn to her, not looking at him at all as her eyes search for him.

She asks, little distracted "Have you seen Harshad?"

Aj quickly answers "Yes, saw him going out in the backyard just a minute ago"

Jennifer's eyes lit up at his replu and she flashes him a huge smile on squishing herself to him "You" re great Aj  ", before she is pushing away sprinting away got towards the door

Aj, watches her as she surprisingly pulls him close and shouts as he watches her leave" Arre Jen! "

His call  leaving unanswered as she walks away.

She slips out of the venue unnoticed, the smile on her face not leaving-only increasing with the anticipation of meeting him. They had their mini rendezvous and Jennifer couldn't help but want to feel his hands on her body again. The way he would hold her, kiss her and it was all more than she ever thought. She couldn't believe everything she wished for was coming true.

She enters the lawn, wind blowing in her eyes skeeming through the entire place, decorated with lights and white  drapes. A smile forms on her face as she sees tuff of hair in the, and she knows it's him.

She rushes towards the, wondering what he is being doing out all alone.

Her steps falter so does her smile as she comes near, his eyes are bright lips curled in a smile and there is a pin poking in her heart as her eyes take in the hair, sliding down to the woman in front of him.

And it's Alia.

He is smiling at Alia.

She decides to leave, to give them their space which they obviously needed as they are here away from the others. She is about to turn but her legs seems to be rooted at her place. She knows he has not noticed her yet, obviously focused on his girlfriend before him.

It is like  the calm before the storm. She watches them, notices the myriad of emotions flashing in his eyes. And after that everything happens in a flash but feels like it is playing in slow motion infront of her eyes as she watches Alia hug him, then he is enveloping her in his arms. Her eyes falling on the ring in Alia's hand that she gives it to Harshad. The way her eyes are glistening with love for Harshad. And she can feel her heart breaking into thousand pieces as Harshad holds her hand, as he says sweet words to her, as she is nodding before she puts the ring on him. And then they are kissing, it is soft and slow completely opposite to the quake beneath Jennifer's feet.

And she gasps, palm on her lips as it clicks inside her. The scene infront of her clicks in her and tears began to flow through her eyes.

Her eyes locked on the ring, on their joined hands and as she tears her gaze to watch them kiss Harshad pulls back. His eyes falling straight on her. And there is a flash of recognition in his eyes.

She watches him push Alia away, distancing himself from her. She watches him mutter something and just as Alia is about to turn around Jennifer runs.

She runs and runs and runs, runs around the bungalow through the corridors. Runs as she hears him calling her name, runs thinking he shouldn't be running behind her-he supposed to be with Alia. Runs feeling stupid, being stupid for having a hope that she could get happiness, feels like an idiot for wishing for happiness. Runs for letting her play.

"Jennifer! Jenny!" she cries loudly, gasping shaking her head as she runs

She goes around the bungalow, away from the function, away from everyone her feet taking her as she can feel him behind her.

"Jen! Jen!" she hears him shout, feels him near her but the cracked pieces of her heart are louder than his cries. The image of them smiling at each other, hugging each other and kissing each other flashing infront of her eyes.

Her feet move faster as the image of that engagement ring, the ring Harshad wore, the ring he accepted, the ring given to him by Alia, the ring he is wearing right now.

And she doesn't listen, doesn't stop wanting to be away because she never belonged, not with him, not here.

She just doesn't belong

And that thought breaks her.
