Jennifer feels numb as she enters the small bungalow right behind the big one were the reception is held. She feels numb as she reaches, the cold of the night sending shivers through her as she climbs the small steps moving towards the front door. She needs to be away from others, they are happy and enjoying the night and she is a big depressed mess who feels filthy with each step she takes. She shouldn't be with them, her presence will only bring them down on whatever elation of joy they all are. Her cursed faith will only rob them off their good luck and she doesn want that.

She just wants to go away from everyone. From him. And she thinks she can, the wedding is over. There is no reason for her to stay.

She clutches the knob tightly pulling it open as she hears him calling her, his voice distant and she doesn't spare a second before entering the dark house.

She has stopped crying now. Decides seconds ago Harshad wasn't worth her tears. That crying isn't going to change the fact that she is dirty, cursed and he is someone else's. He can never be hers.

Her whole dream of happiness is a blind shot into the vast universe and she wants to cry at her fate. But she doesn't, she has no tears left. She just needs to go away, because now after what she saw she doesn't think she can stay here, not anymore.

Because staying here will kill her more.

But going home doesn't sound great either. It is the most dreaded place on the planet for her. But she has nowhere to go. That is her life.

She feels like she would be functioning without limb.

Her heart races, her back pressed to the door, eyes shut forcefully as loud knocks startle her.

"Jennifer! Open the door !"

And she shakes her head though he can't really see her , he shouldn't be here. Shouldn't be behind her.

He should be with Alia.

"Go away!" she shouts only for the knocks to get more furious and she knows he wont leave her. Won't leave till she opens the door and tells him to go away.

"Jenny please!" he cries and Jennifer's heart seizes as she hears it in his voice. He is about to cry. She wants to pull open the door and wipe his tears but she holds back. She needs to be mad at him.

"What are you doing here?! You should be with Alia right now !" she shouts back clutching the dupatta to her chest, because he needs to ve with his girlfriend not running behind her. Needs to be kissing her like he was, hugging her like her was and loving her like he does. Not running behind her out of pity.

"It isn't what are you're thinking. Let me explai-" He starts, twisting the knob to no avail, desperately wanting to reach her. .

"It is exactly as I saw it! Go away Harshad!" she shouts back, cutting him off. There is no explanation to what she saw out there. Nothing possibly can make her change mind if what she saw.

"Open the door Jenny! Please!" he bangs now, rattling the door and she cries, for the first time after she had decided she won't shade a tear, not for him.

But this time she cries with panic, feels like she is back into the black room and cries, "I want to go home!" having no idea where her home is because she has none.

Not anymore

Panic rushes through Harshad, tears blurring his vision at her pained cry, at her demand and he pushes the door with all his might as she shouts at not letting her go this he cries "No! Jen-baby please, just let me explain"

"What are you going to say?! What I saw was false!!" she turns facing the closed door, eyes blazing as she unlocks it.

"Ye-No, I mean - Baby just open the door" Harshad stammers, cursing before he tries the handle banging.
