P.O.V : Sal
I had been watching her all day since Larry had introduced us. Since we had discovered the Occult, my trust was severely lacking when it came to strangers. I found it weird that this girl came to live here around the time we had been having more and more experiences with the Occult and the fact that she found me exactly when I had been visiting Meghan.
To say I was very cautious when she was around would be an understatement. I walked slowly down the hall as she mumbled apologies to someone she bumped into. I let my gaze linger over her form. Surprisingly she was shorter than me, she was slim and her thick light brunette hair sat sloppily in a bun on her head.
Though she acted overly nice, it felt as if it may be an act, to get us to trust her.
I felt a strong hand slap my back and I leaned my head back to stare into Larry's eyes, amusement twinkled in them.
I slowed my pace to match Larry's as my eyes found Liliana's figure again.
"She's pretty huh?" He smirked and nudged my side. I watched as she continuously looked around her surroundings as she nervously played with her backpack strap.
I ignored Larry's comment and stopped walking. "I need to talk to you about her"
He eyed me cautiously "Okay, what's up?"
"Let's wait until we're somewhere more private"
I moved my eyes to Larry once she had rounded a corner. Larry nodded and put his hands in his pockets. "Sure, let's meet in my room after school?"
I nodded in agreement and walked to my last class.
By the time school was over, Larry waited for Liliana and the three of us walked back to the apartment complex. Larry made small talk with her and she remained slightly quiet for most of the walk. I kept myself on the other side of Larry. I listened intently as he continued to ask her random questions.
"So why move to Nocksfell?"
She continued to look at the sidewalk beneath us, she would open her mouth and close it again. Almost as if she were picking her words carefully. "We moved here for my dads job" She finally decided on saying.
She wouldn't look at any of us and Larry noticed the slight difference in behavior. "Well that sucks, it must have been hard to leave everything behind"
She looked over at Larry deep in thought. "It's alright, I'm really just looking forward instead of back."
Her words soaked in my brain and I'd like to agree with what she said. A small memory of my mother smiling at me came as quickly as it went. I tried to shake the image away as we finally made it back to the apartment complex. "Well Lily, if you want to walk with us in the mornings, your more than welcome"
She gave a small smile towards my best friend and nodded happily "I would love to"
She looked over towards me and I saw her expression turn towards nervousness. "Thank you for your help today" She gave me a small smile and made her way towards the elevator. Once it went up, Larry turned towards me.
"Let's head down to my room"
I nodded in agreement and we walked over towards the elevator. Once inside, Larry stuck the basement key into the slot and we passed small conversation back and forth. As soon as the elevator dinged, we made our way to Larry's and headed inside to his room. I made my way towards one of his bean bags and tossed myself onto it. Larry flopped onto his bed and looked over towards me.
"So what's up man?"
I positioned myself into a more serious seating position, or as serious as one can sit in a bean bag chair. I played with the end of my black sweaters sleeve and stared at Larry. "I think Liliana can't be trusted" Larry raised an eyebrow.
