When characters are speaking and their words are italicized but in English, they are speaking in another language that is not English (it will be referenced).

If a character says a phrase or word in another language, it will be translated, but written in that form and not italicized.

Please pay close attention to the dates mentioned at the beginning of some chapters. If not, understand that the story evolves over several years.

Read the character list thoroughly, if at all.

This story is based on true events that happened during British Colonization of Malaya and during the Malay Emergency, all of which between 1941 and 1948. It is also loosely based on a true story of one Charles Miles, who befriended an enemy.

All events mentioned are real events, however the characters are all fictional.

The Imperial Japanese Invasion began in 1941, where the story begins.
