Taking Chances

Detention

I stood there next to Jason, as I watched their car take off.

"I don't see my car anymore, maybe my friend went home." I said

"I'll drive you." He said smiling

"Really?" I asked.

"Of course" he said

"Ok,but you know I can just call my friend and-"

"It's fine" he said leading me to his car.

We got in his car and I told him my location, he started driving, and this time he started the conversation.

"So your really going to stay after school tomorrow?" He asked

"Yes I am, I know we have to work on the project, so do you want to stay with me after school tomorrow for a few mins?" I asked ..

He gave me an unsure look so I added "unless your too scared!"

"Oh I'm not scared, I'm just scared for you." He said

"Why?" I asked

"Because Austin is not someone to mess with" he said

"Sounds like your the scared one" I said laughing

He smiled and I kept bugging him until he said yes.

When I got home Mia looked like she was ready to kill me, my mom was probably sleeping or something because it was only Mia in the living room.

"Where on earth were you?" She asked

"Where on earth were you?!" I asked

"I asked first" she said

"We didn't say we were being fair" I said right after she made her comment.

"Well I'm saying it now" she said

"Fine, I was with Jason and then we got out the school, and we saw a group of guys, and-"

"What group of guys?" She asked

"Um Rico's group" I said

"Austin was in this?" She asked

"Oh yes! He's a jerk by the way, but he's really hot, he has like the perfect look." I said

"Wait so you talked to him?"she asked

"Yes I did, what's wrong with that?" I asked

"Nothing, how did you talk to him though?" She asked

I realized we were just throwing questions at each other, so I explained everything..

"Next time you see him be more nice Skylar, Austin isn't someone to mess with, well I have to go back home, I was just checking to see if you were safe girlie." She said

"Ok." I said

"MOM!" I yelled running to the kitchen

"Skylar you have got to stop calling me every morning you wake up" she said

"I'm sorry, but I woke up late, did Mia come yet?!" I asked

"Yes she's in her car waiting." She said

"Ok thanks mom, your the best love you!" I said running out the door to Mia's car.

"We're late, which means we both have detention."she said as I got in her car and put on a seatbelt.

"I was late the first day of school, and nothing happened." I said
