Fighting Feelings

"Your what?!" Jason asked the next day in math class

"I'm helping Austin." I said

"Why?" He asked

"Because he helped me a lot when it came to Rico." I said

"You sure that's why?" He asked

"Yeah! There isn't any other reason why, I thought you would understand." I said

"I do but I'm your boyfriend, and I don't like the idea of you and Austin being together-"

"Why?" I asked cutting him off

"Because he's friends with Rico, Skylar I don't think this is a good idea." He said

"I don't really care what you think, if it were anyone I would help! that's the type of person I am." I said.. He looked at me with an "I can't believe this expression"

"Well if that's what you want to do, then .. I guess I'm okay with it." He said

"Thank you." I said when math class ended I looked in E.L.A class to see if Austin was in there and he wasn't, so I went outside the school to see if he was out there, I looked at the back of the school and I saw him there.

"What in the world are you doing here?! Your supposed to be in class Austin!" I said screaming at him.. He just smiled.

"I'm missing some of my class time because of you I really don't find this funny!" I said

"I wasn't laughing." He said

"Well your smiling, know what? Just get up and go to your class now!" I said

"Make me." He said

I went up to him looking up to him.

"Austin, I have pepper spray." I said ..

I wasn't used to being like this so I didn't know what to say to get him to go to class.. He just started laughing.

"I honestly don't know what to say, but I'm not giving up." I said

"Why?" He asked smiling at me..

When he smiled at me I blushed.

"I already told you, I'm not going to repeat myself, now let's go." I said

"Skylar, I'm not going anywhere, you can't make me do anything I don't want to do so stop trying." He said

"Fine then I guess I'll just have to stay here with you until you decide your going back inside." I said thinking if I said that I was going to stay with him he would want to leave.

"Okay can we stay somewhere else, since you found me I don't think this is a good hiding spot." He said

"Are you serious?!" I said

"Yea I'm serious." He said

I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms

"We're staying right here." I said

"Okay, just don't want the 'good girl' getting in trouble." He said

I didn't have a good come back so I asked him one more time to come back inside.

"You still have time to go back to class Austin!" I said

He stepped closer to me. "Oh so you don't wanna be alone with me?" He asked smiling.

I thought he was flirting so I spoke up..

"Okay first I have a boyfriend." I said pushing him back

"Second I wouldn't want to be alone with you even if I didn't have a boyfriend." I said

"Then why are you here? Why do you want to help me when you know I don't want your help? I'm pretty sure it's not about Rico." He said

"Yes it is about Rico, I wouldn't help you if it wasn't for You helping me with Rico!" I said...

"It isn't about Rico, but since your just dying to help me I'll let you, I'll go to my classes." He said about to walk away but I stopped him

"Wait." I said .. Why did u say wait? Why didn't I let him go?

"What?" He said turning around

"Why do you think I want to help you?" I asked

"I think you know." He said walking away.

After I knew he was in the school I went to my class, the day went by fast.. I got out the school, I asked Mia if we could wait for Rico and the rest of the guys, because I wanted to see if Austin was still hanging out with them. After a few more mins they all came and I saw Austin I gave him a "your so done" expression.

"Austin." I said.. He did something I didn't expect to happen, he smiled..

"What do you want from him?" Rico asked

Mia stepped up to him and he had to look up to her.

"That's none of your business Rico.. Let it go." Mia said mocking Austin's voice. The boys that came along started laughing.

"Anyways I need to talk to Austin." I said taking his hand leading him to somewhere further down from everyone else he was still holding my hand

"You can let go now." I said

"Do you want me to?" He asked

I let go, and that answered his question.

"What do you want?" He asked

"You." I said as if it was obvious, he smiled and that made me realize that what I said sounded way different out loud than in my head.

"You want me?" He asked

"No I meant I wanted you to be here, cause I wanted to tell you something." I said sighing because I failed at explaining.

"What do you want to tell me?" He asked

"That you should be home working on your homework and not outside with Rico and those other guys." I said

"Your helping me with school, not with my outside life." He said

"Well, what you do outside can affect how you do in school." I said

"Oh so you want me to stop hanging out with Rico?" He asked

"Yes." I said

"Okay." He said

"Really?" I asked

"Yeah, if you break up with Jason." He said

"No, I would never, especially not for you." I said

"Then I'm gonna keep hanging out with Rico." He said

"Anything else? Other than breaking up with Jason?" I asked

"Nothing I can think of." He said

"Well then." I said

"What?" He asked

"Nothing, just thinking of a way to make you be your own person and not hang out with Rico." I said

"Good luck with that." He said about to walk away but then I stopped him. I went closer to him..

"Why do you want me to break up with Jason?" I asked

"Why do you want me to stop hanging out with Rico?" He asked

"I asked you first." I said

He came closer to me and I didn't push him away this time, I was fighting my feelings for him, so I didn't know how I felt about him ..

"I think you already know why I want you to break up with Jason." He said.. We were so close that I thought he was going to kiss me, I didn't know if he wanted to or if he was going to he was so unpredictable.

"Oh okay." I said walking away from him before I did something crazy, like kissing him.
