The door still hadn’t budged even an inch. Nothing I tried even got it to move even the slightest breadth. Trying to fight against Andreas’ magic was pointless, this much I knew. But instead of getting angrier with each failed attempt, I became more accepting. I was stuck in here until he decided to let me out. At which point I was going to kill him. And I was going to enjoy it. The nerve he had for trapping me in my own room! I didn’t care how good his reasons were. My friends were in danger and he couldn’t expect me to sit idly by while they were getting hurt.

And then I heard the roar the managed to rattle even the walls. The dragon had returned. This instilled me with a new found fight. One of the spells Andreas had taught me was telekinesis; that should be able to help me move a door, right? I chanted the spell softly, and then remembered how bad I was at it. There wasn’t even a familiar rush of energy running through my veins. I kicked the door, but all that accomplished was hurting my foot and bruising my ego.

A teleportation spell would have come in handy in this situation, but did anyone ever bother to teach it to me? No. Perhaps Andreas had been anticipating this very sequence of events and didn’t want to leave me with an escape plan. It was incredibly selfish of him to keep me away from the fight. Often time good intentions did more harm than good.

I banged my fists against the door, much like I had just after he left. “Andreas! Let me out of here!” I could hear the commotion going on outside. I could hear their moans of pain. But I couldn’t do a thing to help them.

Finally, I abandoned my position at the door and headed over to the window overlooking the front of the manor. I pinched my eyes shut quickly when I noticed a figure being tossed through the air. A figure with ebony hair.  I racked my hands against the glass, but even the window refused to budge. Just what kind of spell did Andreas place on this room?

Red, hot fury bubbled inside me when the dragons blasted fire to the figure with the black hair and the blond figure standing next to them. I hit the window as hard as I could, past my breaking point. There was not a chance that I would stay in this room any longer. I was getting out, and I was going to help them!

The now familiar energy finally started pumping through my veins, the flame behind my eyes burning an ever brighter blue. A sudden calm overtook me as words I didn’t know spilled from my lips automatically.

Ut non sit obligatus telam solvuntur. Mentesque nostrae in eius interficiam in carmine quod vitam mihi, sicut cervarum. Libera me.” Unwind the web that is meant to keep me bound. Undo the spell that has kept me shackled in its binds. Set me free.

The door behind me slammed with a force against the wall as it opened. But, before I turned to it, I noticed my reflection in the window. My eyes were glowing a very brilliant blue. Beyond my reflection, lightning was shooting across the sky. But I wouldn’t have much time to marvel over this fact before my mind became foggy and the floor started looking more and more appealing.
