"I write rhymes I hide behind."
- Matthew Healy

Dear readers,

Writing has always been an outlet for me to express my emotions. Somehow, somewhere along the fine line between irony and honesty, it became a medium of re-experiencing trauma.

Intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, and the memories were too much for me to bear. I no longer want to wake up in fear, with breathing difficulties, palpitations, and a blanket of sadness over me; from a reoccurring nightmare that is indifferent from reality.

Thank you for reading the words my lips failed to speak, tears my eyes refused to cry, and the loss too overwhelming for my heart to comprehend.
I am utmost grateful for the vulnerability and the extent to which it has allowed me to pen down these emotions accurately, with a rhyme.

I hope that you found comfort, refuge and a familiar sentiment in the poems, in regards to your own emotional turmoil.

May you all recover and live very happy lives.
