Chapter Twelve

When you were making your way to the blanket you fell. Fearing that you would hit your head, you put your hands out in front of you and closed your eyes. You waited for an impact that never came. Slowly, you opened your eyes and saw that your face was two inches from the ground.

You already knew who caught you, but you were stilled scared when he turned you around so he could see your face.

When he finally pulled you up so you could stand, you put your arms around his waist and and cried into his chest. "What is wrong, ______?" he asked you letting concern show in his voice.

"When...I-l o-opened...my-my eyes, my face was...very cl-close to the...the ground," you said in between sobs.

"I am sorry I didn't pull you up before you opened your eyes. I feel so bad for scaring you," he said as he rubbed you back soothingly.

"It's not your fault," you managed to say without being interrupted by sobs.

When you finally calmed down, you sat down on the blanket, this time without any problems.

When you finished the snack, Sebastian held his hand out for you. You took his hand and he picked you up bridal style. This made you remember the first time you met Sebastian.

"I also remember that, ______," Sebastian said as he began to walk you back to the mansion. You were confused about how he was able to read your thoughts.

"Uh, Sebastian, how were you able to read my thoughts?" you asked him.

"Well, ______, there is a simple answer for that. I am just one hell of a butler," Sebastian responded.

"One more thing," you said to the black-haired man.

"What is it, my kitten?" he said to you as you both grew ever so closer to the front door.

"Why do you..." you tried to say. However, you caught a glimpse of someone in the bushes.

"What is wrong?" Sebastian asked, sensing your distress.

"Sebastian, there is someone in the bushes," you said as he set you back down on the ground.

"______, I want you to go back inside the mansion, go to your room, and shut and lock your door," he said as he made his way closer to the figure. You nodded and ran to the mansion.

You managed to get inside the mansion before someone attacked you from behind and put a cloth over your mouth. Your vision became blurry, then you passed out.
