Evelyn's POV
After Shawn and I had our fun we both passed out. I surprisingly didn't wake up with any nightmares. My mind wasn't racing. My phone didn't go off with texts or calls from my family. Everything was perfect for once these past few weeks. I'd forgotten the pain I felt when my mom told me the news. It was like I was my old self again. The me that set up photoshoots once a month for my friends. The me that I was when I met him. I was on cloud 9.
It's crazy how one single moment can make a person forget about all the shit they're going through. Even if it's just for a few hours or so it blocks that person's hell out. A level of happiness never experienced occurs.
"Morning Mendes."
"Morning. You seem happier than usual."
"I'm always happy when I get to wake up with you. That was corny. Wasn't it?"
"Only a tad bit. It was cute though."
                           *Evelyn's phone rings*
"Babe, can you hand me that?"
"You sure? It's your mom."
  My heart starts to race.
"Fuck my life.." I gulped. "Hand me it still."
My hands start becoming sweaty and clammy. I put her on speaker.
"He-hello?"
I grab Shawn's hand.
"We need to talk. I'm bringing your siblings over, be ready in 20!"
He places a hand on my shoulder making me shiver.
"I'll just get you a pair of my clothes to throw on quick Lynn."
I stand up and wonder into the bathroom. Pee,wash my hands, brush my teeth, put deodorant on, threw on my bra and underwear, then change into the hoodie and shorts Shawn left on the counter. I just stand there trying to ready myself then see Shawn changing through my peripheral vision. I'm paralyzed with fear. Why can't I have one peaceful day? Why does shit ALWAYS have to hit the fucking fan? The doorbell rang I still can't find the courage to move. Shawn walked downstairs to let them in.
Okay you can do this E. This is just a simple talk. You've had plenty of them! It can't be that bad right? Right?!
If only I knew hell was returning.
I slowly walked downstairs. My heart's pounding out of my chest. If life was a cartoon you'd be able to see it. All of us walked to the living room to sit down on the couch.
"This whole process hasn't been easy but this part may just be the worst."
Once again I grab Shawn's hand like life depended on it.
"Evelyn." She inhaled I'm taking your siblings and we're moving to Seattle.."
Tears attempt to break through.
"When-when do you guys leave?" I replied.
"Today. Right now actually. We came to say goodbye."
No no no! THIS ISNT FUCKING FAR!
All of us gathered for a group hug while my legs hardly being able to support me. Shawn and I led everybody out but once that door closed I collapsed against the door and broke down.
WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO DO THIS?!?
Shawn's POV
"Shawn. This- this isn't far!" She cried. "My family is gone. My dad is lord knows where he's probably fucking everything in sight! While my mom is taking my siblings to Washington. I can't win!"
"Hey. It's going to be alright."
"But is it? The ones who took care of me for years just up and left! They abandoned me! I know I'm not alone but I fucking feel like it!"
"Alright stand up."
I hold out my hand waiting for her to take it.
"My arm is getting tired hunny. Please just stand up."
She takes my hand then I help lift her up. I led her upstairs into our room.
"I'll be right back. Sit tight."
"I'm not in the mood for this Mendes.."
I come back with our suitcases.
"What's this about.."
I cup her face to wipe away her tears.
"We're going to New York for a bit. No objections! You need to get out of this place for a while. Plus I need to press for the new song. Start packing! The jet is waiting."
We start folding clothes then place them neatly in the bags.
"Please tell me you know where your camera is."
"As a matter of fact this time I actually do." She chuckles.
About an hour or so later everything was packed and ready to go. Lyn texted one of her friends to drop us off at the airport. Once seated she seemed much more relaxed than she's been these past few months. She takes some photos then rests her cute head on my shoulder.
"Same deal as always?" I asked.
"You got it." She yawned "Wake me when we're there."
