"never once she left my mind."

awful silence was surrounding us that night, but only one of us was smiling as if that awkward pause had no meaning. "then," the voice of mine cracked before I would know, "why did you marry me?"

"to move on."

as simple as that. his answered my question faster than any children would when they want something. he pronounced every each words eloquently, as it was clear that he spoke without even thinking.

I got startled when I heard my phone ringing; it was from my former colleague, also my close friend, hoseok. I wasn't sure why he would call me on a night time, usually he would just call me during the day. "hello—"

"sweetie, where are you?"

"at home?"

"what do you mean you're at home?" he raised his voice higher and I could hear that he was panicking through the other line as if something bad was bound to happen and like a wildfire, his anxiety was transferred to me.

"what do you mean?"

"what do you mean what do you mean???" I heard a few gasping, and that was when I realised he must've put on a speaker. "girl, you must be joking? why are you at home and why is your husband here?"

my mouth was wide opened, I was dumbstruck with the whole rushing situation. I knew nothing what was happening, "because he's working—" they all gasped again and then they finally explained to me.

"president kim is holding a small christmas ceremony and he said to bring you. what, didn't your husband tell you or did you really forgot?

after hearing them, I was rather in my own thoughts again. I wanted to believe that I probably forget it but I was never that forgetful when it comes to special events. did he tell me? no, he never even once talk about the company since last week.

"I'll be there," I said softly; it felt like every little papers were twirling inside my mind. there was so many questions and so many assumptions. "kim jiae," I muttered her name under my breath, "I can finally get to see her."

quickly I entered my room and wore a beautiful frothy dress that made me look like a bride and a princess at the same time. I let my hair braided and I made sure that I was as sparkling as the star on top of a christmas tree.

but I was holding my breath once I stood on the door frame. I didn't know why I had the feeling of fear as I look at the outside. I felt guilty and I wanted to break down. "maybe, I should just stay at home—"

my phone rang again, I was surprised to see president kim's number calling me. so I answered him, "secretary kang—I mean, kang jihyun. where are you?" he asked me, "I asked your husband and he said you're feeling unwell, is that true? you would always come to my event even though you're sick."

I smiled after hearing his words, suddenly I remembered the last christmas ceremony I had with them; it was before my marriage. I had a broken arm due to a minor accident that happened on the night of the ceremony.

"remember that night when you were called by the police for running out from the hospital?"

both of us laughed upon remembering that hilarious moment. "I'm feeling better, I'll be there to see you guys," I told him without any hesitation. I took a deep breath once I put down my phone and I stepped outside.

it felt like I was holding my breath in a deep ocean and then I was finally on shore. I smiled to myself, "I'm sorry, yoongi." I got into my car that was untouched for so long and I went straight to the place I would always go.

"secretary kang!" I was greeted by the securities once I walked inside the building. the scent of the whole place was just memorable. "haven't seen you for so long!" they said and I told them the same.

I entered the lift and pushed the button that I would always do, my office. I could hear christmas songs blasting through the lift and I wasn't sure how to feel at that time. I was scared to see yoongi but I was excited to be there.

as soon the lift was opened, every eyes were on me. they had their mouth gaped wide, "secretary kang?!" I flashed them my proud smile and then everyone cheered for me, I would always felt so loved being with them. "we missed you!"

"sWEETIE!" I heard hoseok shouting from afar, and then he ran toward me with the others as well. "what took you so long? director min said you're sick, is that true? why didn't you tell me?"

"darling—"

our heads turned to look at the man that called me darling. the man with pale skin, sharp eyes, the man that looked like a historic porcelain, the man that I vowed to be my husband. the man that I love.

"are you feeling better—"

"yes."  I showed him a weak smile, "sweetie I'm feeling better." there was no guilt written on his face; it was as though he wasn't lying to everyone. "I forgot to tell you that I'm coming."

both of us had been staring at each other for so long until someone was calling the both of us at the same time. "yoongi," a girl called him and "secretary kang," a man called me. I looked at the man beside me, president kim.

"hey, thanks for inviting me."

"nonsense, I would always invite you. except last year. but hey, you sure you're okay? no more police officers coming?"

the others snorted before laughing out loud, "oh gosh. that year was super iconic!" hoseok exclaimed and everyone agreed. " and we thought they came because we were too loud!"

while they were joking around, I looked around to find my husband. and he was standing near to a lady with curly hair and in a red sexy dress. they were smiling so widely as though something was sparkling between them.

"I have to admit," president kim suddenly said, "both of made me gawk."
