valentine's day 2019

zach knocked on the door before entering. the young one entered without receiving any response from his boyfriend. after all, they had seen all of one another so there was no problem.

"are you ready to go, honey?" zach was practically jumping with enthusiasm when he entered the room.

jack on the other hand was sitting on the bed watching his phone like any other day.

when zach mentioned valentine's day a few weeks ago, the curly haired boy had been more confused than anything. he did not remember on what day he lived.

besides, valentine's day was kinda bad. he had never celebrated it. it seemed to him that it did not make sense to have a day to express his feelings, he already did that every day.

but of course he told zach that he would celebrate it.

because jack did everything for zach.

"why do i need a special day for that? cant people show love to someone all days?" jack said again, getting out of bed and putting his phone in his pocket.

his reasoning made sense, but zach had explained that it was an important day for him.

now that they were here on the afternoon of valentine's day, they were ready to go on a date in the lovely city near san diego.

or at least, zach hoped that jack was ready.

"are you going to go like that?" asked the young boy raising an eyebrow.

jack was about to respond with a yes but during these months of relationship he had learned that the correct answer was to shut up and change.

"seriously, do i have to go formal?"

"yes, you do."

jack took off his jeans and his shirt and put on a simple black suit. he let zach adjust his tie and smoothen his pants with his hands.

"you look great," zach said, turning away from him.

"i forgot to tell you, but you too," replied jack bringing his lips to zach waiting for his boyfriend to kiss him.

but that didn't happen. zach walked away and started down the stairs quickly while shouting at Jack.

"move your fat ass! we are already late!"

jack sighed and closed his eyes to breathe those last seconds of tranquility that he had left. then ran in order to not lose zach.

when he was downstairs he said goodbye to jonah and daniel who were huddled on the couch watching the black mirror movie 'bandersnatch'.

why can't zach and i be like them?

jack finally got to the side of zach who was about to get into an uber.

"i hope you didn't think to leave without me," said jack, sitting next to him in the uber.
