Rise And Shine, It's Chara Time!

  About an hour later, everyone was done telling stories and was just relaxed and settled down, just chatting. I checked on Chara about three times in that hour, she was getting a little nervous because it was getting close to her reveal. I said things to her to make her feel more at ease, now I think she is ready to show herself.

  I started to stand up from Sans lap (yes, he never told me to get off so I stayed where I was). "I have to go check on something, Sans, I will be right back".

  "Again?" Sans finally questioned me after leaving so many times. I did not even think about him being suspicious about my constant visit to my car, I should have thought of a better excuse than 'I need to check something' who needs to check something that often? Well, except an anxious, previously genocidal girl.

  "Um, I am sorry for leaving so often, it is just..." I bit my lip and looked anywhere but him, thinking of a better excuse "Um...there is just something I have to constantly make sure is alright before I bring it in here".

  Sans raised his right eyebrow. "Oh yeah? What's that?". I nervously giggled.

  "It is a surprise, bonehead" I added the little nickname in hopes to ease his suspicions; it worked only a little bit. He nodded and let me go, though he was still a little hesitated.

  "Are you sure this is an okay time to show Myself?" Chara queried when I asked her if she was ready "I'll probably just ruin the peaceful environment".

  "Do not say that, Chara" I gently rebuked "Sans is the only one who knows what you have done, I will be able to reassure him, just trust me". Chara turned her whole body around in her seat to face away from me and curled up into a ball.

  "Sans is the person I'm worried about the most".

  "Then who, Chara? What are you afraid of?"

  Chara did not respond for a long while; the minute sent of just silence seemed like hours. "My...family" Chara eventually responded.

  "Your...your family? Is that who you're worried about seeing?" my voice full of sorrowful concern. I began to further understand her fears: Toriel, Asgore, and Asriel thought she was long gone; she spent almost eight to nine years doing something terrible that was not even in her full control; if anyone ever figured out about what she did, they could never look at her the same way.

  "Frisk...what if they are angry at me for being gone so long? What if they figure out what I've been up to these past years? I've been gone so long, won't it be awkward?" her voice started to break in the last sentence. I was a bit surprised, never has she been this emotionally upset about something; she used to mock me whenever I cried or was even sad.

  "Chara" I started to say softly. I was still a little surprised and did not quite know what to say to her to make her feel better. "They're not going to be mad at you-"

  "HOW DO YOU KNOW?!" Exploded Chara, her sorrow finally spilling out. The silent pause was uncomfortable, to say the least until Chara calmed down, realizing she should not have been so harsh, "You act like you know everyone's feelings, Frisk, while I will admit that you're a good people reader, you can't know the thoughts of everyone and every thought". I thought about what she said, it made me realize something I did not even know about myself, I sometimes did feel like I could tell what everyone was thinking when that was not true. Chara was a hard person to understand, her and Sans both.

  "Your right, Chara, sometimes I can be ignorant like that. But-" I smiled as I said my next words "I do not need to be good at understanding people to know that Toriel, Asgore, and Asriel will be more than happy to see you, they have no reason to be angry, they know you could not help what happened to you" I reassured her. "And, Chara, if they do figure out about your past, they will be able to look past that and see who you are now". Chara turned back over to face me. She wore a tired, sad smile.
