"Congratulations." I stated monotonously.
Before Bill or the blonde could reply, a floorboard creaked behind me. I turned around and saw the witch that invaded my every thought, that shook the very foundation that I built for myself.
The one I was falling for.
"Hermione."
"Y/n, mind telling us why you're here?" She asked coldly.
"What? No 'Hello. How are you?' Not even a 'How have classes been?'" She gave me a look, "Fine, straight to the point. I don't mind a girl like that. If you must know, I was looking for you."
She seemed almost flustered, I allowed myself to believe it was because of my very low key flirting.
Hey, I've already failed, my foundation has already crumbled, I might as well try to get the girl now that I've accepted defeat.
"Looking for me?" Hermione seemed confused, she pointed at herself in disbelief.
"Yeah, you, and the other two buffoons. Moldy Voldy wasn't to happy to learn of your escape. Sent everyone out looking for you three. I could have called him here as soon as I saw you..." I pulled up my sleeve to show the tattoo on my arm, the others had joined us at this point, the other Weasley, Loony Lovegood, and the boy wonder himself. They seemed nervous with my fingers dangling dangerously close to the mark. "...but I've recently had a change of heart. I would like to change sides as well."
Everyone was quiet. My fingers nearly touching the tattoo. I focused on Hermione, she seemed paralyzed. Looking ever so slightly to the left I saw boy wonder, to the right was the Weasley, and even further right was Loony.
"Well..." The single word seemed to break everyone's trance, and everyone's eyes went to Loony.
"I see no problem giving Y/n a second chance."
"Are you kidding?" Bill spoke up. "Y/n hates people like us." He started gesturing to people as he spoke. "Blood traitors and muggle borns. We're inferior, weak, idiotic. That's how we will always be to stuck-up pure bloods like them." He ended his small speech by crossing his arms and glaring at me.
I feigned being hurt by his words and put my hand over my heart. "Wow. Strong words weasel. But I'll have you know that I have changed. I'm sure you're familiar with my history and I assure you I am more like my parents than you seem to think." I stood from the stool and walked closer to him. "For someone who claims to be so loving of everyone from all walks of life you sure are being close-minded." I made my way to the middle of the group again. "But I can understand where you are coming from, just a few days ago I carved a hateful slur into Hermione's arm. I am terribly sorry about that by the way." I apologized as I turned toward the aforementioned witch.
Her hand covered the spot where the scar was, she seemed to be in shock. "T-that was you?" She stuttered ever so slightly.
I sighed, "Unfortunately."
Once again silence washed over the small cabin. Luna was the first the leave, followed shortly after by Bill and his wife. Harry and Ron seemed more reluctant to leave Hermione alone with me, which was understandable. I did just confess to being the one that carved the hate filled word into their friends' skin. It wasn't long though before Harry grabbed Ron's arm and pulled him away, he seemed to understand that this was a conversation to have alone, not surrounded by people who might kill you.
Once we were alone Hermione was still silent, it was killing me, I would rather have the girl throw a curse at me, or at least yell.
Somehow the silence was worse.
