Saved (A Supernatural Fanfiction)

Chapter Fourteen

"Dean!" Sam shouts through the bunker. Dean strolls into the library, he was obviously in the kitchen.

"What is it?" Dean asks with a mouthful of pie. 

"Several bodies have been found in the woods in a small Montana town. Chunks of flesh ripped out of their bodies. The town also has several missing person reports posted.  They have a witness who claims to have seen a man with blood red eyes running through the woods.  Think it could be a rugaru?" 

"Could be, let's check it out. Lex and Jack are in the kitchen, fill 'em in, see if they wanna come," Dean says heading off to the Impala. Sam finds Lex and Jack in the kitchen and fills them in on the possible rugaru case in Montana. They gather their things and meet Dean in the garage.  When they all go out on a hunt, they've started taking two cars. Dean fills the trunk of the Impala with weapons they may need, he's fond of the flamethrower. Dean, Cas, and Jack hop in the Impala, while Sam and Lexxi drive a Mercury Cougar they found in the garage. They make the 16-hour drive in 12, stopping for gas and food along the way, about halfway there Jack switches cars and rides with Sam and Lexxi. 

"Sam, Lex head to the police station see what you can find out, we'll scout the woods," Dean delegates. 

Sam and Lexxi change into their suits and head to the police station. 

"Hi, I'm Agent Adamson, this is Agent Garrison," Sam says to the officer at the front desk, "What can you tell us about the bodies that were found?"

The officer leads us to the morgue which is housed right at the station. The medical examiner greets them coldly.

"What can I do for you agents?" she says. 

"Do you have any idea what killed these individuals?" Lexxi asks, examining the bite marks on one of the victim's shoulders. 

"Bobcat, Jim caught the animal this morning, why is the FBI interested in this?" the medical examiner questions.

"With this number of suspicious deaths, we just wanted to look into it, see if we could offer any help. Thank you for your time." Sam says, gesturing for Lexxi to follow him out of the room. 

"Those people weren't attacked by a bobcat," Lexxi says when they are out of earshot of the station. 

"No they weren't those were clearly human bite marks. We better find Dean and the others.

"Okay, we'll meet you back at the motel," Sam says into his phone, Dean on the other line. he hangs up. "They didn't find anything in the woods yet, Dean says we'll get some sleep and start fresh in the morning." 

Sam and Lexxi pull up to a small motel on the far side of town. They spot Dean and the others by the Impala. They park next to it and get out of the car. 

"Here, room 112," Dean says tossing a set of keys to Lexxi, "Whose bunking with you?"  Lexxi looks between Jack and Sam. She obviously wants to say Sam, but instead "Come on Jack, let's get some sleep." He nods and follows Lexxi. Sam, Dean and Cas head to their room, 104. 

Lexxi goes straight into the bathroom to get ready for bed when her phone dings.

**Banging on door** "What's going on?" Lexx asks opening the door, Jack just now getting out of bed. 

"There's another body, we gotta go!" Dean says. 

They scout the woods most of the day around where the bodies were found. The town is in a frenzy, realizing it wasn't a bobcat attacking its people. Only one missing persons report remains, Cas and Sam go to his house to talk to his wife, find out if there's any place he might have gone, he could be the rugaru they're searching for. Dean, Jack, and Lexxi find a trail of blood in the woods. 

"Dean, over here," Lexxi says looking down at the ground, it's almost dusk, so it's hard to see, but there are fresh marks, and blood pooling beneath the body of a teenage boy. 

"Be careful, the rugaru could be anywhere," Dean says, as a figure leaps out from behind a tree towards Jack, knocking him to the ground. Dean tackles the creature and stabs with with a demon-killing knife, it crumples to the ground. 

"Thanks," Lexxi says, taking Dean's outstretched hand, "Dean, look out!" Lexxi screams as another figure bounds towards them. Dean and Lexxi react instantly. Dean stabs this rugaru as well, but not before it sinks its teeth into Lexxi's arm. 

"Lex, you okay?" Dean asks frantically. Lexxi looks between Dean and Jack, her vision blurry, head spinning. She feels arms around her, before passing out in the back seat of the Impala.

"Sam, she'll be fine, she just lost a little too much blood. Cas did his angel magic and she's fine," Dean says assuringly.

"Lexxi, you need to rest," She hears Cas's voice, he's standing next to her bed, Jack by his side. 

"How do you feel?" Jack asks. 

"I'm just kind hungry is all," Lexxi says.

"I can take care of that, Jack, come with me," Dean says, they disappear through the door. 

"Are you sure you're okay?" Sam asks, sitting on the edge of the bed next to Lexxi.

"Cas did his thing and I'm fine, really," Lex says giving Cas a small smile, he's looking at Sam, who is looking at you with concern in his eyes. 

"She will make a fast and full recovery," Cas says, "I'll be back to check on you later," and he walks out, leaving Sam and Lexxi alone. When Sam hears the click of the door latching he immediately turns and pulls Lexxi into a tight hug. 

"I am never leaving your side again," He says, kissing the top of her head. 

"I think Dean would figure out somethings going on between us if you never leave my side," Lexxi says with a laugh. 

"I don't care, I worry too much when you're on a hunt without me," Sam says, concern in his voice, but Lexxi could tell he was serious. 

"I worry about you too, I worry about all of us, but Sam, I am perfectly safe hunting with Dean," Lex says. 

"Your arm would say otherwise," Sam says flatly. 

"Sammy," Lex says in her knock-it-off voice, placing her hand on Sam's cheek turning him to face her. He presses his forehead to hers before lightly kissing her lips. She presses back just as they hear the click of the door opening. They pull away from each other quickly, Sam grabs Lexxi's arm gently and pretends he was checking the bandage. 

Dean and Jack walk in carrying bags from the burger joint down the street. While they eat, Dean fills Lex in on the rest of what happened, They burned the bodies of the two rugarus, who turned out to be twins, brothers. Sam and Cas found out that one lived off the grid and that's why there was only one missing persons report. They tipped off the police that there was another body in the woods, they searched the area and found no signs of any other rugarus. 

When they're finished eating it's late, Dean tells everyone to get some sleep they'll head out in the morning. Sam reluctantly leaves Lexxi alone, knowing he can't ask Jack to switch rooms without igniting suspicion in Dean.
