The next morning Davon and I dropped off Kona to one of her friends after church. The family Kona was spending time with is one of my mom's childhood friends, and they accept us with welcome arms.

"So do you want to tell me why you want to purchase a gun?" he asked finally breaking the silence between us in the car. Davon owns a red mustang that his parents got for him when he turned 16 last year on March 21st.

"Last night, after you guys left, I saw someone beside Kona but he or she ran away before I could confront them," I explained."What?! You should have called me. Something horrible could have happened to you guys!"

"Sorry ok. Last night, my mind felt clouded and I just couldn't think straight." I bit my bottom lip to prevent me from crying.

Davon sighed and parked in front of a run down apartment building in the city. He looked to me and pulled me in to a hug. He whispered, "I'm sorry too. I wanted last night to be an amazing night for you. I just don't wanna lose you."

"It's ok I'm not going anywhere. We should go inside now," I said as I broke the hug between us.

Davon decided to buy a gun for me using the black market since neither of us could own a gun legally. His "friend" lived on the 5th floor which was the highest floor in the building. The room we were in look like any other apartment room except smaller. The living room was connected to the kitchen and there were three doors on the left side of the room. The walls had cream colored wallpaper but bits of pieces were peeling off. The living room floor had brown carpet with one coffee table, a couch, television, and rocking chair. The seller was an old lady with five cats.

Davon and I were sitting on the brown couch while the lady was sitting on her rocking chair with a cat on her lap. She served us with hot chocolate and brownies. We didn't drink or eat anything since she could have put poisoned in it and she would just take our money.

She looked at us and stated, "Look I wouldn't poisoned my clients if that's what you're thinking. It's rude not to accept the food and drink your host gives you."

Davon replied, "Sorry, we're just being cautious but how come we don't see the gun and bullets anywhere?"

The old lady chuckled, "I'll give it to you as long as I receive my cash first. Also I would like to know why you two would purchased a super compact glock 43 and 9mm bullets. You two don't seem like troublemakers by that I mean you guys don't seem to belong to a gang."

Before speaking I took a drink from the hot chocolate. "We need it for self-defense. It's a complicated story and I'm pretty sure you haven't heard of it."

The woman looked at me directly, "Listen girly, I know your Zoey Belladonna. The number one suspect for her missing boyfriends or exes yet those dumb detectives still haven't found evidence to lock you up." I gripped my mug tighter, "I didn't do anything to them that's why they haven't found evidence."

The woman leaned back in to her chair and smiled. "I didn't say you're guilty, I was merely stating a fact."
Davon interrupted, "Look we're just here for the gun. We didn't come here to have a chit chat with a stranger." Davon took our the small bag of money and handed it to the lady.

She took it and looked inside the bag to insure that the money was present. The old lady told Davon to get it from her bedroom which was the door in the middle. She claimed that her old bones are too tired to get up and get something that someone else could get. Now there was only her and I in the room.
