The cabin wasn't insight anymore as they walked for 20 minutes.

Rose's legs caved in and she ended up falling on her knees. Davon quickly placed her sister by a tree and helped Rose get back to her feet. Then he carried Zoey's body next to Kate.
"Can we rest for a moment?" she asked.

"Yea, I'll keep a watch, " replied Davon as he stood up, "Go rest near them so it wouldn't be hard keeping an eye on you guys."

Rose obeyed his instructions and Davon tried to see if his phone had any signal. It wasn't safe for them to be interesting in the forest at night with a killer looking for them.

He started thinking of a strategy for them to be safe yet every idea was pointless. If they had stayed in the cabin Mr. Beins would still have found them.

"Psst... Davon," Rose called out.

"What is it?" he said turning his attention to her.

"I see someone walking towards here with a flashlight and I'm scared it's him," she whispered. Rose stood up and started backing up.

She crept away slowly until her back bumped into someone. She was about to scream when the person covered her mouth. Rose looked at the person and realize it was Mrs. Huffman. Rose relax and the detective uncovered her mouth.

"Stay quiet," Mrs. Huffman whispered, "Take my gun. I'm weak from my gun wound and blood loss."

Rose informed, "Detective, the criminal is your partner."
Mrs. Huffman was taken back. "I'll stay here since I fan barely move now. Take this gun and protect yourself." It was a glock 19.
Rose nodded and walked closer to Davon who was crouching behind a tree. She nudged him and handed Davon the gun.

He was speechless to be holding a gun. He turned to Rose and raised his brow.

"I found it near here just use it when he comes closer," Rose demanded.

Mr. Beins was finally in gun range and Davon stood up and pointed a gun at the detective. Mr. Beins was shocked and pulled out his hand gun too.

"Easy kid, nobody needs to die tonight," Mr. Beins suggested.

"You're a criminal," Rose spoke out.
Mr. Beins was shocked to see them together. Then a shot fired, it was from Davon. Mr. Beins mouth hanged open because of the shock. The bullet hit the tree beside him. "You have a bad aim boy so I suggest you stop," Mr. Beins commanded. Another fire ring out but this time it hit the detective's left arm.

There was no another choice but to fire back. Mr. Bein's first shot grazed Davon's waist. A small bloodstain started to appear on Davon's jacket.

They were both taking cover behind a tree. Bullets were being exchange until someone got hit. It was the detective. He got shot in his throat and blood started squirting out. He fell to his eyes as he tried to cover his neck with his hands. It was no use, there was too much blood loss.
Mr. Beins was died on the forest floor with his blood pooling around him. Davon inspected if the three girls were fine.

Rose ran up to him and finally confessed about Mrs. Huffman by pointing the way where she saw the detective. They walked that pate to help the the other detective but found no one. Rose was horrified to see her missing.

Davon realized it was impossible for the female detective to be still alive from her blood loss even if she managed to find a way to slow it down. It's been hours since he saw her. Both of them felt something wrong. Davon gripped the gun tightly in his right hand.

They started to make their way back to Zoey and Kate.

Unexpectedly, someone grabbed Davon's right hand and pointed the gun towards Rose. He tried to resist but this person was stronger. Then a two shots fired and Rose screamed. Davon looked and saw a bullet hole on her stomach and the center of her eyebrows.

The reason haired girl fell to the ground, dead.

Davon looked and saw it was Mrs. Huffman. The gun was currently in Mrs. Huffman's hand. "Why would you do this!?" he shouted angrily.

Someone smashed a stone on the side if his head and Davon passed out.
