"Gemma, stop worrying, you're going to love it here" my dad gave me a resurring smile from the front seat as my mom tried to concentrate on driving.

I rolled my eyes for what felt the 100th time that day, and continued to watch all the houses go past the window as we drove down the street. I kept wondering which house we were going to stop at.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that we are moving somewhere like LA but I also have so many worries that keep filling my head. What if no-one likes me here? What if I don't fit in? What if I can't get the job I want and end up living with my parents for the rest of my life? This was supposed to be a fresh start yet, I can't seem to stick to the positive side of all this.

I was so lost in thought, yet again, I didn't notice the car had pulled up on the drive. I stepped out of the car, putting my backpack on and looking up at the house.

It wasn't really a big house, but it wasn't exactly small either.

"Mom, is this really our new house?" I asked her as it suddenly hit me that this is where we will be living from now on. I will no longer be in the small house we lived in when we were in Denver and it was becoming quite a shock to me.

"Yep, home sweet home" she smiled as she put her arm around me.

I looked at the house for a bit longer, thinking of how lovely it looked on the outside and wondering if it was as good inside. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all??

Shortly after we arrived at the house, the removal van pulled up outside which had all of our furniture and personal belongings all packed away inside.

"Shall we go inside?" my dad asked.

I nodded at him, letting a small smile appear on my face.

We walked up a few steps towards the large wooden doors of the house. Dad took a single key out of the front pocket of his jeans and unlocked the door.

As I walked in, I was so shocked at how beautiful it looked. The walls were plain white and there was wooden floors, which carried on up the stairs. There were multiple doors leading off into different rooms of the house.

I think I even cracked a little smile.

"See, I told you it wouldn't be as bad as you thought" my dad said to me, obviously seeing the smile on my face.

"You get first dibs on which room you want but shh, don't tell your mum!" he said grinning widely at me.

I know how much this move means to all of us so I am at least going to try and make an effort of enjoying it. I pushed all the worries I had out of my head for the time being and ran up the stairs, taking two steps at a time, nearly slipping over on the way.

I walked down the big corridor, pushing all the doors open as I go, to see which room I wanted.

There were three bedrooms, two of them had bathrooms leading off from them, an office (which still had a desk and an empty bookshelf in it) and another bathroom.

I picked the room which had glass doors leading of onto a small balcony.

The room was quite big, but I thought I'd leave the biggest room for my parents, considering there are two of them and only one of me. The walls were just plain white except the biggest wall which was a light shade of blue. On the blue wall, there were two doors which led into a small closet, but it had a seperate place for things like shoes.

I walked out onto the balcony and took a seat on a plastic chair that was left there previously. It didn't seem very stable but it will do.

The view was so beautiful!
