"What do you mean he used to live in Denver? How would you know that?" I said, feeling my breathing getting heavier, confused as to what was going on. "You're lying.. you must be!"
"Gemma, if you calm down I can explain everything.." my mom said, resting her hand on my shoulder.
"Calm down!? You want me to calm down!? Do you have any idea what you just told me? I thought I met Kian a few days ago for the first time but it turns out I probably knew him before.. in Denver where my life was a living hell.. and you're sitting there telling me to calm down??" I shouted.
"Gemma.." my dad butted in.
"No dad, I'm done. I don't want to know and I defiantly do not want to know how you know him" I stood up, walking out into the hallway.
"Where are you going?" My dad shouted after me.
"Out" I shouted back, not caring what they said, before walking out the front door into the cold autumn air.
This made sense. Kian and and my dad got on so well when they first met and they didn't have a problem with him staying round. If it would have been another boy my dad would have gone mental but he didn't. I have no idea what was happening but I didn't want to know. I just wanted my life to be normal for once. I wanted to make sure I actually had friends here.
I had no idea where I was going or what I was going to do, as I couldn't drive yet and I hardly knew the area. I decided to go to Kian's and maybe I could calm down a bit.
I opened the door like Kian had previously told me to and walked into the house. It was pretty quiet so I was guessing they were all either watching TV or everyone else was out.
I walked through the hallway and towards the living room where I heard two voices from inside.
"I don't even like her okay?" Kian said.
"She still deserves to know" said the other voice, which sounded a lot like Jc.
I stood by the door listening... were they talking about me? They couldn't be..
"You know, the only reason I hang around with her is because I feel sorry for her.. she should be round in a few minutes so I can speak to her then" Kian replied.
I heard movement and I assumed they were walking towards the door but I couldn't move. I was frozen to the spot.
The door to the living room opened and Kian and Jc were stood there in front of me.
"Oh my god Gemma, how long have you been stood there!?" Jc asked, looking nervously at Kian who brushed his hand through his hair.
"How long Kian.." I said just above a whisper.
"Gemma, just let me explain" Kian said, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"How long were you going to string me along! There's nothing to explain Kian.." I said, moving so his hand was no longer on my shoulder.
"You know what? I'm done. I thought moving here was going to be different.. I thought you were different but you're not.. you're just like every single asshole I have ever known in my shitty life. I'm sick of it!" I said before turning on my heal and storming out of the house, not bothering to close their door. I couldn't stand being in that house any longer and I definitely didn't want to go home.
I heard Kian calling my name but I blocked it out, walking faster until I was at the end of their drive.
I felt my cheeks burning up as a few tears slipped out my eyes. I wiped them with the back of my sleeve before beginning to walk down the street. I didn't know where I was going, I didn't care.
