Chapter 19 - Run

Chloe and (Y/N) sit, the two armed guards in front of them and Lazarevic paces. (Y/N) gives a glance to Chloe. "You're such a backstabbing bitch." She mumbles, picking at the shoelace on her boot. 

"I seem to recall being in the same position as you." Chloe replies.

"You two shut it." A soldier spits and Chloe rolls her eyes and for the rest of the time they sit in silence.

"What's taking them so long?" (Y/N) whispers but Lazarevic makes his way over, crouching down in front of her, leaning on his shotgun.

"Hi." She grins and he raises an eyebrow. "So you're (Y/N) (L/N)." His accent was thick and alarming, but she nods, leaning forward on her knees.

"The one and only." (Y/N) whispers and Chloe gives her a look to shut up, but the woman chooses to ignore her.

"You've certainly made an impact in this business." He states, standing back up.

"Somebody had to. People weren't making any, really." She responds, making a dig at never hearing his name before.

Lazarevic goes to say something, but is stopped by the platforms in the middle of the cavern rotating back again, connecting to form a path. Two soldiers grab Chloe and haul her up before the same happens to (Y/N). Their group begins to make their way down the path and sounds of gunfire come from at the end.

"Can we hurry up?" (Y/N) shouts, worried for Nate and moving forward, being grabbed by a soldier. Lazarevic ignores her, keeping the slow pace down the path. At the end, he forbids them from going any further, walking into the room first.

Three shotgun blasts eliminate the other gunfire. "Ah - ah - ah - hold him." (Y/N) hears Lazarevic order and then laughs menacingly. "Scarecrows... guardians to frighten trespassers."

"Yeah, well, it's bloody effective." Flynn speaks.

"Lazarevic - I've done what you asked. Let them go." Nate pleads and finally the pair are allowed into the room. 

"Always bargaining... but you have played your last hand, and lost." Lazarevic tells him and (Y/N) eyes the dead sasquatches, grimacing.

Harry points his gun at Nate and she struggles against the hold of the soldier. "Looks like it's the end of the road, mate."

"No, no, no, no, not yet. I want him to see Shambhala, and die knowing that I have taken it from him. Open the gate!" Lazarevic barks.

Two soldiers run up to the door and rotate a wheel on either side. The soldier pushes (Y/N) forward as everyone approaches the door, watching it slowly open. She winces at the sudden harsh light, following behind and heading outside. Once she's adjusted to the light, she breathes in awe of the city stretching off into the distance.

"Now. You have been a thorn in my side for far too long." Lazarevic hisses, turning back to face Chloe, Nate and (Y/N). "On your knees!" He orders, the gun lingering between them.

"Hey, hey, uh - Zoran, we had a deal." Flynn reminds him.

"I do not suffer traitors."

"Oh, right, so I suppose you know exactly how to find the Stone, then... won't be needing me..." Flynn hums and Lazarevic walks to Chloe, holding the gun against her head. After a few seconds, he pushes her to Flynn, who grabs her. "Thanks."

"On your knees!" Lazarevic orders, turning back to Nate and (Y/N).

A soldier grabs Nate and pushes him, but Nate turns and tries to wrestle the gun from him; (Y/N) doing the same to hers. However, they don't get a chance to do anything as their soldiers are shot with an arrow.

"What is this?" Lazarevic shouts, confused and he turns around. Three Guardians jump out of the trees and fire arrows at them, another hitting a soldier.

"Fire, you fools!" Lazarevic orders. All his men begin to shoot, the attention from the pair now on the Guardians.

Whilst Flynn is distracted, Chloe grabs his gun, turning and elbowing him on the face. "Son-of-a...." He groans in pain.

A soldier grabs (Y/N)'s arm and she turns, punching him in the face.

"Run!" Chloe shouts, joining in the shooting with Flynn's gun.

"Go!" Nate adds, grabbing (Y/N)'s hand and pulling her along with him. The three of them leave the group, jumping down into a lower area.

Nate's hand doesn't leave (Y/N)'s.
