(Y/N) opens her eyes slowly, the familiar style of a Tibetan house greeting her vision. A weary hand goes to her stomach, a bandage clearly been placed underneath her top. Biting her lip, she begins to sit up and at the sound of her movements, Sully jolts up, going to her side.

''Goddamn you, (Y/N), almost gave me a heart attack when I got the call from Nate.'' He exclaims, helping her sit up at the side of the bed. "Hit by a grenade? That's a first, kid. Even for you.'' He adds and she lets out a weak chuckle.

Sully hands her a cup of water and she downs it in one, placing the cup on the table beside.

''Where's Nate?'' (Y/N) asks, eager to see him and make sure he was alright.

''No, hi Sully?'' He grumbles, but smiling at the same time. ''He's just outside, I'll go let him know you're awake.''

She gives him a small smile, nodding. Sully disappears and immediately returns with Nate, who makes no hesitation in grasping her hand and kneeling in front of her.

''I thought you were dead.'' He whispers, resting his head in her lap and she ruffles his hair, a few tears down her face at the sight of him.

''You can't get rid of me that easy.'' (Y/N) mumbles, giving the top of his head a soft kiss, making him relax, knowing she was going to be okay.

--A few days later--

Sully lets (Y/N) link her arm with his and gently, she stands for the first time in a few days. She holds her stomach in pain, making a face.

''Okay, back to bed.'' Sully says and she shakes her head.

''There's no way. I'm bored and I could do with the fresh air.'' She pesters him until he finally gives in, carefully leading her out of the house.

Down the steps they go, very slowly and Sully helps her down, acting as if she could break at any given time.

Nate stands with Chloe, who walks away from him once they're at the bottom of the stairs. He turns to see (Y/N) and a grin breaks out across his face.

''Well, look who's not supposed to be out of bed.'' He tuts, his hand holding something.

''Yeah, she's a lousy patient.'' Sully jokes as the two stop in front of Nate.

''Stubborn as hell.'' He adds and she playfully slaps his arm.

''I'm not stubborn.'' She huffs, but they all knew that wasn't true. ''I'm just restless.'' She justifies.

Sully lets out a laugh and she pushes his arm away, wanting to stand on her own two feet without the need of someone to lean on.

''So, no giant sapphire.'' Sully states.

''Once again, no.'' Nate replies, the smile not having faded since she stepped out.

''And you're sure of that?'' Sully asks.

''Yes.'' (Y/N) tells him, laughing.

''Just a metaphor, I'm afraid.'' Nate says, loving that he could hear her laugh again.

''A metaphor ain't gonna pay your bills, kid.'' Sully reminds him, pulling a cigar out of his pocket and putting it in his mouth.

''Eh, something else will come along... just gotta have faith.'' Nate answers, not caring about that at the moment.

''Yeah, that and a quarter'll get you twenty-five cents.'' Sully says.

Nate holds out his arm and (Y/N) looks at it, rolling her eyes in a jokey manner and then wrapping her arm around his. He chuckles and Sully notices the two look awkwardly at the ground.
