"Come on, honey, you can do it.'' Chloe whispers, placing (Y/N)'s arm back around her neck.

''Do we really? Can we not get like a fancy helicopter?'' She groans out, stumbling along with Chloe down the bridge towards the outside of the city. She chuckles at the statement, shifting (Y/N)'s weight and trying to quicken the pace.

There's a few minutes of silence whilst the two women make their way down the bridge, the ground starting to shake slightly underneath them.

''Will Nate be okay?'' (Y/N) finally asks, her voice weaker than before.

''Hey, you've known him longer than I have, you must've seen him do stupid things before.'' Chloe replies.

''Not this stupid.''

''This is Nate we're talking about it. He'll come out of this saving the world.'' Chloe reminds her. "Saving your world." She refers to the previous conversation.

(Y/N) chuckles, but it instantly turns to a whimper of pain. Chloe notices this and slows it down. ''We can't stop, we have to get you out of here.'' She says, watching (Y/N)'s eyes flutter open and close.

''We can't leave without Nate.'' The woman mutters.

''I know, sweetie, he'll be here.'' Chloe replies, looking back worriedly and then pulling (Y/N) up from her droopy stance.

''Chloe... what if - ''

''No. We stop this right now. You need to save up your stength, we're almost there.'' Chloe grits through her teeth.

The two continue, both adament of getting to end of this bridge and out of the city. They were both done with Shambala. Bodies of Guardians and Lazarevic's men scattered around the place. However, both minds crossed over the idea of (Y/N) not making it. Of Nate not making it.

Stumbling on, Chloe's knees buckle under both their weights.

(Y/N) looks down at her t-shirt and the top part of her jeans, soaked in crimson red, now all dried up. Her boots caked in mud and she cries, the tears falling silently. If Chloe wasn't here she knew she would've accepted her fate by now. Lying down on the bridge here wouldn't be a bad place for the light to take her.

''We're almost there, (Y/N).'' Chloe exclaims, nearing the end of the bridge and towards the steps out.

The bridge behind them shakes violently, the buildings around beginning to crumble and they end the bridge, (Y/N) falling against a stone. Chloe kneels down instantly, turning her so she's sitting up right against it. The bridge begins to collapse and Chloe watches and (Y/N) closes her eyes.

''No, no, (L/N) you stay awake right now.'' She orders, but feels helpless at being able to do nothing.

The bridge crumbles fast and the two worry for Nate amongst other things.

Once the dust settles, there is silence, only the whimpers of pain. Then, all of a sudden, Nate's hands appear on the edge, pulling himself up.

''Nate?!'' Chloe shouts, surprised as she stands, checking on (Y/N) and then running over to him.

''Chloe!''

''Nate!'' She says again, shocked to see him in a well enough state. The ground shakes, sending her flailing to the side. ''Whoa! Jesus!''

''Run!'' Nate yells.

''What?'' She shouts back, frowning.

A Guardian, who was lying on the floor behind her, stands. ''Behind you!'' He calls.

''Huh?'' She looks behind, confused and her eyes widen.

''Look out!'' The Guardian grabs Chloe by the neck, lifting her off the ground, but the bridge has other plans. It slants down, letting the Guardian drop Chloe and the three slide down the part of the bridge.

The Guardian keeps trying to fight her. ''Get offa me!'' She screams as Nate shoots at it. She then kicks it, making it fly off the bridge and Nate falls faster, sliding off the edge and grabbing a broken rock. ''No, no, no!''

The edge breaks and Nate falls, but Chloe grabs a hold of his hand. ''Got you.'' She hauls him up, helping him get a grip. ''That's it... come on.''

Nate pulls himself up and they run back towards (Y/N) who had fallen on the floor, her arm crossed over her stomach.

''C'mon, we gotta get her outta here.'' Nate says, worried at how worse she had become. (Y/N) flutters her eyes open and the other two sit her up.

''Nate...'' She breathes, giving a small smile at him being safe.

''I promised.'' He whispers and she nods feebly.

''Up we go.'' Chloe instructs, the two putting her arms around their necks once again. "C'mon sunshine.'' She says, pulling (Y/N) back to her feet.

Behind them, the city crumbles, blue flames engulfing many of the buildings in anguish. The three slowly make their way up the stairs.

''What the hell did you do back there?'' Chloe asks.

''Oh, you know... saved the world.'' He replies, making her scoff.

They stop at the top of the steps and Nate removes (Y/N)'s arm. ''Okay... you got her?'' He takes a breather, the cuts and bruises from his fight before starting to take the effect of helping the one he cared about.

''Damn it, we gotta move faster.'' He mutters.

Making a hasty decision, he puts his arm behind her knees, sweeping her off her feet. His other arm wraps around her back, hers going around his neck.

''Let's go!'' Nate orders, letting Chloe run and he follows behind, jogging the rest of the way.

---

The three of them exit the hidden passageway in the courtyard with the tree on top. The snow here was a contrast to the sun of Shambhala

Nate lays (Y/N) down on a stone, watching as her eyes stayed closed and Chloe bites her lip in fear, taking a step back.

''Oh, no...please, (Y/N)...'' He breathes, gripping her hand in desperation. ''Oh, God, please no...''

His eyes water and he shakes his head. ''(Y/N), hold on, all right? Just hold on. You're gonna be okay, alright? You're gonna be fine.'' He says, more trying to reassure himself.

Rubbing her shoulder, Nate stops, carefully moving a strand of her out of her face. ''You're gonna be just fine.'' At this one, his voice breaks.

''(Y/N), don't do this. I need you. Please...'' He whispers, his head falling next to hers, his hand still tightly wrapped around her cold one.

''I love you.''
