Shit, shit, shit, shit!! All I'm feeling is fucking... Panic! Oh god, what if they get hurt? Infected? What if CROW FINDS THEM!?!? That bitch got us split up! My mind is spinning and my head hurts. I can hardly focus on what we're doing, which is finding a way out of these damned woods.
"C'mon," Maxx coughed pulling my arm.
"I'm coming.."
My eyes burned with my lungs. It hurt to breathe and it hurt to blink. Ashes easily got inside through my eyes and mouth. I tried covering it with the collar of my shirt, but that didn't help much. It was hard to avoid falling trees that were on fire. Maxx almost got crush by three trees, me only one.
"They'll be okay..." I whispered to myself. "Oh god." I groaned. "I'm going fucking crazy! I'm talking to myself!" Maxx shook his head. "You're fine, Dan. We'll be out of here, I promise." He glanced over at me.
"... Let's just hurry, please.. I can h-hardly breathe." I choked on the ashes. He nodded, yanking me forward. We ran and ran until our lungs were officially burnt out. Collapsing on the ground, we shook our heads. "It's no use," Maxx weezed. "Just a little further Maxx. C'mon, we have time.." I tried standing up but immediantly fell. Maxx dug his nails into the ground as he pulled himself forward.
We both layed on the ground, listening to the burning trees around us. This was really it. It was truely the end.
"Shit man, wake up." Maxx slowly got up, shaking me. After my small knock out, I opened my eyes only to see lights in front of us. It began driving towards where we layed. Maxx slowly got up, leaning against a burnt tree. He began shouting for help, waving his good arm. Picking myself up with the little strength I had, I managed just to get on my elbows.
I began shouting with the cracked up voice I had.
Eventually, the truck neared closer and closer. I remember seeing Maxx fall on his knees, still crying for help. The headlights began turning blurry, then everything else.
Everything turned black. Each time I could see, it was always blurry, then it would return back to darkness. This went on for a full three minutes. We had passed out on the ground, the people inside the truck getting out and putting is in the back.
When I could see, a girl was helping us with our wounds. Oddly enough, I instantly thought she was an angel. I really must be going insane.
"Sleep,"
Her voice whispered to me softly. "Your friend is alright. So are you. You're safe. We're here to help you." I could see her lips curl up through the blurriness. I couldn't help but to give her a small, tired and weak smile before closing my eyes, letting sleep drag me deep down into slumber.

When I had woken up, I was on a bed. I let my eyes adjust to the brightness in what looked like a room. Sitting up, I rubbed my eyes. My head hurt and so did my lungs. Looking to my left, I noticed a bed with the covers halfway off the matress. Maxx must've woken up before me. In between the bed was a desk with a cup of water. Beside that was a sticky note,
"Dear Dan,
I have left you a cup of water, along with some medicine for your headache in what I can assume you may have. If you are reading this now, I would like you to meet me in the cafeteria. Your answers will be answered there.- Lisa"
I couldn't help but to smile at that note. Looking at the water, a pill was left under the note. Taking it, I popped it in my mouth and drank the water. After that I set the cup down and got out of bed.
