CHAPTER 8!

Do me a favour?" She asked sheepishly.

What kind of favour does she want from me? Do you know before when I said not all PE teachers are mean? Well I'm seriously reconsidering that statement right now.

"What kind of favour?"I ask sceptically. I eye her up and down, suspicion clear in my body language.

If I said I wasn't scared, well then that's a hold load of bull crap.

"I need you too coach my husbands, Saturday under 16s boys soccer team." she spoke in one breath with her eyes showing a large quantity of desperation.

My eyes widened in disbelief. Let me get this straight, a woman I have known less than an hour is asking me to coach a bunch of 15 year old boys who will no doubt be very sexist towards the 17 year old girl who is supposed to teach them soccer.

Ya...that's no gonna work to well.

"You have to be kidding me! A bunch of teenage guys are not gonna like the idea off a teenage girl teaching them soccer." I exclaim in annoyance.

I love playing soccer but I don't know whether I can coach it, I'm not trained to do such things. Yes I know the rules, the skills and how to judge the best positions for people, but I have no clue how to train somebody. The fact that it's a boy's team is just another thing to add to the list of why accepting this offer is bad.

Miss Regis takes a step forward "please Lily, the teams good but not good enough to get into regionals never mind nationals! They need you, I know they do. Yeah the boys are gonna be wary about the idea of been coached by a 17 year old girl but when they see how good you are Lily, they aren't gonna care!" She pleads desperately. The look in my eyes told me she believed every word she said. But I can I really help them?

"You need to challenge yourself Lily, playing with girls is not challenging enough for you. Think of this as a test, if you can coach these boys and get them to regional standard, then you can do anything!" Coach Regis said while sticking her bottom lip out at me.

"Fine" I groaned. Did I just say that? Crap.

Though I do need to challenge myself. Playing soccer with girls can be tough at times but nothing ever really pushes me to the best of by ability. Maybe this is what I need in order to progress and improve myself.

"Yes!" Coach exclaims fist bumping the air. "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" she sang happily. I'm pretty sure if we weren't in school she would have tackled me into a hug fit for a bear.

"Yeah sure no problem, I'm gonna go get changed now." I replied awkwardly, turning around and heading towards the direction of the changing rooms.

"Oh Lily" she called from behind me. I stop in my tracks and turned to face her. "Be at the local soccer pitch at 10 O-clock on Saturday." She smiled at me then turned to finished packing away the equipment.

God Almighty!

What have I gotten myself into? I mean seriously, I have just set myself up to be instantly downgraded by the stupid, sexist, opposite sex.

One thing's for sure I'm dreading Saturday morning, more that Monday morning at the moment.

The next couple of days pass by in a blur, nothing too out of the ordinary even occurring. Just the plain old boring routine, which in my mind means something eventful, is going to happen.
