Chapter 13!

Today is the day of try outs for the Tigers. Am I scared? Hell yes. But this is my chance to shine, to show of my skills, to show them I am the right person for them.

It's going to be hard going up against all these amazingly skilled girls, but when you want something as much as me, nothing and I mean nothing can get in your way.

Not even the hottie next door, who just so happens to make me feel weird things.

Last night was amazing to say the least, we ended up dancing all night but not just to slow songs i can tell you that. Adam has proven to me that he sucks major balls at dancing. He said his dancing skills were amazing and with me being the competitive person I am, I challenged him to a dance battle.

Let's just say his attempt at the worm looks more like a uncoordinated dying whale that has no sense of direction or movement.

Yup... It was that bad.

So it's probably obvious to everyone who won the worst dance battle of the century.

You guess correctly, ME!!

After rubbing his nose in it by singing, "HA HA I WIN, YOU LOOSE NA NANA NA NA" about ten times I was dragged away by my mom, claiming we had to leave but in reality it was to stop me from embarrassing my family any more than I had already done.

They love me so much! Not!

I am not currently, rushing around my room trying to stuff everything I need into the gym bag which I should have prepared last night but instead I was slow dancing with the towns player.

I really need to get my shit together, today is one of the most Important days in my soccer career yet all my mind can think about is the way I felt last night in Adams arms.

Oh damn my mind is not in the right head space right now. I think it's about time I whack my mantra out to rid myself of all thoughts Mr I'm so awesome, don't you?

"Perseverance and precision leads to perfection" I whisper to myself over and over again while walking down the stairs.

My mantra was created 9 years ago, when I could not master a trick I had tried so hard to learn. I found that, the more I tried to do the trick the worse my attempts would get. I remember asking my old middle school coach about it, and she said no matter how much perseverance I had, it would not be perfected without precision.

She basically meant stop being a stress head and think about the movements of your body instead of the ball.

And that my lovely people is how my mantra 'Perseverance and precision leads to perfection' was born.

"Come on Lily. You're going to be late, if we don't get a shift on" My dad fusses while shoving a cereal bar and protein shake in my hand and shoving me out of the door.

"Okay! Okay! Keep your pants out of their knot dad" I exclaim while slipping into the passenger seat of my parents car.

You see, when I told my parents about being invited to try out for the California Tigers soccer team, they were completely and utterly ecstatic. My mom started ranting about how I am finally getting my act together and doing something about playing soccer, while my dad was rambling on about which soccer plays I could use which would get me noticed.

I could deal with my dad, because quite frankly I was Indeed thinking the same thing. However, my mom? Well that's a different story all together. I mean come on, we have literally been in this town for just over two weeks and she was complaining that I was letting my skills go to waste. Well sorry to disappoint you, but I spent most of this week slaving away at the gym and secluded parts of the beach getting my fitness up and practicing my skills.
