CHAPTER 6!

When it begins to get dark, I say goodbye to the circle and head towards my house.

After Adam left, we continued to play truth or dare but not until I quizzed Tom, Dan and even Maddie on why Adam left.

To my utter disappointment they said he had something to take care off while exchanging not so sly smirks between them.

I haven't known Adam for long but I know that the feeling I got when I received that answer wasn't a good one. I also know that I wanted the reason why he left to be because he was jealous.

Damn this isn't healthy Lily.

It's also just going to end with my heart been broken, because a popular player like Adam won't think nor like an undercover Tom boy like me.

I have to distance myself from him before things start to get out of hand, I have to, to protect me and my inexperienced Heart.

Reaching my kitchen, I see my mom sitting at the table with my dad stood behind her. Their eyes are fixated on a piece of paper in front of them.

"Hey." I plaster a fake smile on my face while shuffling around the kitchen to try and fix up a quick snack.

"Honey, you need to come take a look at this." my mom's trembling voice cut through the air.

The tone of her voice made me freeze. My mom is crying, I haven't heard her speak in that tone since... Well everything that happened.

"Mom why are you crying? What's wrong?" I rush over to them as fast as I can.

This can't be good, considering my mom hasn't cried in over a month and not even the latest grocery bill can make her even shed a tear, although she may shout profanities around the kitchen, until her bank account has restored itself. But to be honest I don't know why she gets worked up about the grocery bill, it's not like we are broke, we have a good amount of money squished in between the sofa of the Evan residents.

"Seriously rents just tell me what's going on, I need to get out of these god for saken girly clothes and slip into my usuals!" I exclaim when no one passes me the god damn bit of paper or tells me what in the shitting hell is going on.

"L-look honey." my dad finally responds in a small voice. He hands me the bit of paper but I can't seem to bring my eyes onto it, they are fixated on the pain and worry evident of my dads face.

"Oh god, please don't tell me this is because I spent most of my money on new soccer cleats because you know, I can get a job and pay it all back!" I ask sheepishly.

"You did what?" My mom shouted at the same time my dad said "Just look at the sheet drama queen!"

"Oka-" my voice gets lodged in my throat when I finally looked down.

Oh god know!

This can't be happening!

He's found us!

My stomach dropped and a feeling of dread took over my body. My hands become sweaty, my body is starting to shake viciously and a weird sting is hurting my eyes.

I hadn't cried since I was a kid, when my favourite soccer team lost to their rivals. But now this unfamiliar sting that I'm not used to has resurfaced.

Every time my eyes scan over the paper, I become more and more nervous and worried.

My eyes stare down at the piece of paper with newspaper cutting letters.
