Luke was getting antsy. He would pace around the elevator, his feet much too close to my face when he walked past. Then he'd start drumming on the doors. Remembering he's a guitarist, not a drummer, he'd pull out his guitar and start strumming a few chords until he got bored and started pacing again.
After twenty minutes he set down his guitar and looked at me. "Let's do something."
"I already told you I'm not making out with you," I sighed, stopping at crack 436. Luke laughed. "I know I know. How about we just get to know each other better, huh?"
"Okay. Why are you such a huge prick?" I asked.
"Harsh," he chuckled. "I'm serious though. I'll start, okay?"
"Fine," I sighed.
"Who was your last kiss?"
"I um, I've never k-kissed anyone yet," I murmured, my cheeks heating up.
"Seriously?" Luke asked. I nodded shamefully. "Introvert, remember? I've spent the last year and a half locked up in my room doing online schooling and binge watching Scrubs and The Office on Netflix. I even lived off of cup a soups for six months until my mom forced me to eat some 'real food' for a while because I was apparently resembling a 'skin bag full of bones.' So no, I've never kissed anyone."
"Not even one of those little pecks in the church courtyard from that kid who was always eating candy while your parents weren't looking?" Luke inquired.
"My family's not religious," I said, playing with the sleeves on my cardigan. "Anyway, what about you? Who was your last kiss?"
"Dunno," he replied. I tsked and rolled my eyes. "Course. How would you know? You being Mr. Bad Boy Rockstar and sleeping with every girl and probably guy who opens his legs to you."
"First of all, I'm not into guys, that's more Mikey's territory. Second of all, I don't remember cause I've been in a perpetual state of drunkness until a few weeks ago. So it could've been Acacia, or some girl I met at a bar."
"I can't believe you still talk about him like that. When was the last time you even spoke to him?" I asked, sitting up. "Or Ashton? Or Calum?" The look on Luke's face gave everything away. "Unbelievable."
"I just haven't had time," he mumbled.
"You haven't had time to even text one of the boys who helped you get to where you are now? Isn't that nice?" I said sarcastically.
"Stop giving me shit," Luke defended, crossing his arms over his chest. "They don't want to talk to me."
"I really doubt that," I said, pulling my laptop out of my bag. I still had wifi in here which was amazing, so I opened Skype, signed out of my account and handed it to Luke. "Log into your Skype and call them."
"What? N-"
"Now." I said warningly. He sighed and signed in before staring at his friends list. I snatched the laptop away from him and saw Ashton was online, so I called him.
"Lu- Hello?" Ash asked, confusion in his voice when he answered.
"Hi. Luke's too chicken to talk to you, but he's stuck with me in an elevator for the next thirty six hours so I'm gonna make him stop being an egotistical douche and repair all the bridges he's burned. Tell me, do you hate him?"
"Erm, no. No of course not. God, we miss him so much," Ashton said. "Can he hear me?" I nodded.
"Luke mate, we all miss you so much. I mean, if you don't ever want to come back to the band, that's fine. But, don't shut us out of your life. You've always been like a little brother to me. Stop ignoring us. We miss you. We love you mate." Luke was staring down at his shoes, his face heating up with what I guessed was shame. He took the laptop from me and I put in headphones and started listening to Lana Del Ray to give him some privacy to catch up with his friend. I was only brought back to his conversation when Luke started laughing loudly and awkwardly, blushing furiously. I took out a headphone and looked at him. He made eye contact with me and blushed again, making me smile.
"Fifteen minutes with you Ashton and he's already reverting back to his old self. Thank God for you, I don't think I'd have survived with him acting like his new self," I said. I heard Ashton laugh.
"No problem Lily. He's just been talking about how pretty you are though and I can't say I disagree." Ashton replied and I coughed awkwardly while Luke just laughed loudly, his face turning even redder.
"Ash, stop it. I told you, she doesn't like compliments and such. She gets all weird about it," Luke said, coming to my rescue. I just ignored him and went back to my music. As the song switched I heard Luke ask Ashton if he had a girlfriend to act on his daddy kink, making Ashton snap at him to shut up, just making Luke laugh. I rolled my eyes at them and went back to listening to music until Luke nudged me with his foot. I paused my music and looked up to see him handing me my laptop. "Thanks, Lily."
"No problem," I smiled, putting my laptop back in my bag.
"Wanna make out now?" He suggested. I just laughed and rolled my eyes. "How many times do I have to tell you Puke, no. I don't want to make out with you!"
"Puke?" Luke asked. I giggled. "I like it. You know what? That's your name from now on. Puke."
"I don't have a gross nickname for you," he pouted. I just laughed and said, "Not my fault your name rhymes with puke."
"Is that what you're gonna call me for the next thirty six hours?"
"Until you stop acting like a giant pile of puke."
"So... Wanna make out?"
"Gross Puke."
