I was starting to get bored, and so was Luke. I was rereading Life Of Pi while Luke messed around on my computer. After a while something hit me. I looked down to see a paper ball sitting next to me. Luke was still playing games on my laptop. I rolled my eyes at his childishness and went back to reading. A few minutes later, a paper airplane bounced off the side of my head. On one of the wings it read, 'Open the paper ball.' I rolled my eyes again before opening up the ball. 'Hi' it read.

'Passing notes like sixth graders huh?' I wrote, tossing the ball back at him and smiling satisfactorily as it bounced off the center of his forehead. I pretended to keep reading while he scribbled another note. 'You're pretty. Will you go out with me?' Underneath his question were two boxes, one said yes under it and the other said no. I checked both boxes and threw the paper at his face.

'What the hell does that even mean?' Luke asked in his next note.

'It means yes & no.'

'What the fuck?'

'Luke, what do you want?'

'I got a taste for it and I'm obsessed

Lying here no fear in the darkness

Now I'm not happy unless I'm close enough to you

And all these dreams I'm dreaming

Freaking me out I wish I knew the meaning

Doesn't make sense because I'm just not seeing

How I'm alive, It feels like I'm not breathing'

'What?'

'Daylight lyrics. Are you sure you were a fan of my band?'

"Shut up Hemmings," I said when he passed me that note.

"You're so adorable," he teased.

"You're such a child," I countered. He stuck his tongue out at me and I giggled. Then he started humming some song under his breath as I continued reading.

"Hey Lily?" Luke asked after a while. I looked up from my book again.

"Can we talk?"

"Can you not make it sound like you're dying?" I requested, making him crack a smile. He simply reached his arms out, so I put my bookmark in my book, saving my page before crawling over to him. Luke pulled me gently into his arms and kissed my forehead. "Is it possible to fall for someone in a day?"

"I think I read a fanfiction about that once."

"You're a fantastic mood killer Michaels."

"Thank you Hemmings."

We sat in silence for a little while, Luke's arms resting loosely around my waist. After a while he started singing.

"And oh, pretty girl,

I know that I just met you,

But I might just dare to say

 That I love you.

 And oh, sweet perfection,

Won't you hear my one confession?

I've been lost, but dear, I'm found."

"Cute lyrics," I said when he finished.

"Lily Michaels, you are so oblivious it hurts," Luke sighed.

"What?" I asked.

"I didn't write those," he groaned, kissing the top of my head. "And I was trying to be subtle-y cute."

"You're always cute, just by being awkward," I pointed out and he groaned again. I continued, ignoring him. "And I know what you were saying you dork. I was just messing with you."

"Jerk."

"Am I supposed to call you a bitch?'

"This isn't an episode of Supernatural."

"I'm so proud that you understood that reference."

"Stop pinching my face!"

"Well you're just so cute I can't stop!" I squealed in a condescending voice.

"Sometimes I really hate you."

"You just sang me a song and told me you loved me."

"… Shut up."

I just laughed.
