-Third Person POV-

Wirt looked at Susan, "You alright?"

She nodded. "My cut stings a little. But that's because of the oil healing my cut." She patted her cheek, feeling her cut sting. Wirt looked at Susan, then to Gregory. "I guess we could just leave...Greg?"

"What?" he said, tossing a log into the fireplace. More candy fell out of his pants, flying all over the floor. "Do you really think there is a beast out there, or is that guy messing with us?"

Susan shivered, as Greg responded absentmindedly. Wirt looked at Susan, "What do you think?" She hesitated, but slowly nodded. "I think it WAS the Beast that gave me this cut," she said. Wirt nearly fell off the couch where he was sitting. "WHAT?!" he said, obviously freaked out.

"I'm not sure but-"

"If it WAS, then it might've followed you!"

Susan froze, looking at Wirt with fear, "A-Are you sure?"

"Yes! Get out of here!" Susan was so shocked by this statement that she stood up. Greg was looking between Susan and Wirt now, with a worried look. "Your putting me in danger!" Wirt shouted, now absolutely terrified, "Your going to get us all killed!"

Susan stood their, feeling awful. She never thought once that she was being followed. Could it be true? Was she really putting them in danger? Wirt stood up, and walked over to the door. He opened it, gesturing to Susan to get out. "Wirt," said Gregory, looking at Wirt, angrily, "Don't make Susan leave. She didn't do anything wrong."

"It's fine...Greg," she said, trying to keep her voice from cracking, "I know when I'm not wanted." She started walking towards the door, keeping her head down the entire time. She glanced at Wirt, whose expression softened a little, but the damage was already made. She walked out of the door and, saying over her shoulder, she said to Wirt, "Thanks for leaving me out here to die, Wirt. I thought you were different."

She kept walking, and shortly, heard the door close. She heard the sound of little feet, and felt a hand slip into her own. She looked and saw that it was Greg. "Greg," Susan said, wiping a couple tears out of her eyes, "You should get back inside."

"You shouldn't be out here by yourself," he said, smiling. "I'm sorry about Wirt. He's just scared. He wants to keep me and him safe."

"I know. I don't want you two to get hurt."

Susan sat down in the grass, her cape swishing a little. Greg sat next to her, keeping her company. "Wirt will be fine after a bit. He'll let you come back."

"Are you sure?" Susan asked, "He seemed pretty scared."

"We're all scared. But Wirt will forgive-"

Just then, they heard something coming from the woods. Susan quickly stood up. She grabbed Greg's hand, pulling him up. "Let's move away from the edge of the woods," Susan said, heading back to the mill. They went towards a barrel by the side of the mill. They heard a ribbit, which made Greg run ahead. "Kitty?" he said, looking into the barrel.

"Kitty?" Susan asked.

"My frog," he said, starting to stand on top of the barrel. Susan looked into the long barrel. There at the bottom, was the frog. She reached down to pick it up, but slipped and fell in. at the same time, this caused Greg to slip from his spot on top of the barrel and he fell in, on top of Susan, and the frog.

"Ribbit!" the frog croaked, protesting.

"Are you okay Greg?" Susan asked, adjusting so that Greg wasn't sitting on her lungs.
