Scarlett walked into the clearing and a deathly calm spread over her. Three men were lying on the ground surrounded by pools of blood and dead Fevior soldiers. Her Hunters spread out behind her alert for any sign that the Feviors would return with reinforcements. The blood on the ground was still wet and many of the bodies had not grown cold. She gracefully weaved around the dead Feviors to inspect the three men. The closest one had been brutally stabbed in the stomach and still had a faint weak pulse. Scarlett immediately inspected the other two men, surprised to find that all three were still alive. Quickly waving over one of her lieutenants, Scarlett commanded, "Run back to camp with two other Hunters and tell them that we are bringing back three wounded men, one of them is mortally wounded. They all require healing."

"Yes Scar," the lieutenant bowed respectfully and signaled two others to come with her. They quickly flitted out of the clearing and towards camp.

One of the Hunters asked, "General, are you sure we should bring them back? They could be our enemies or part of the Resistance."

Scarlett sighed, "I don't think they are our enemies. Surrounded by dead soldiers and with potentially fatal wounds seems doesn't like an extremely elaborately planned ruse to me. I don't think the Feviors would put their soldiers under that much danger. Even if they are from the Resistance I don't think they can do much in the middle of our camp under supervision. Clara come here please to see what you can do for these men to make them as comfortable as possible for transportation. Everyone else make three stretchers." The Hunter nodded her understanding and left.

Clara carefully looked over the man with the stomach wound and stilled for a moment before packing bandages over the gaping wound. She then moved over to the other two men bandaging one's knee, the other's ribs and cleaned and bandaged all the little cuts they had sustained. Walking back to Scarlett, Clara bowed and reported, "The one with the stomach wound will require extensive healing, he is almost dead. The other two are slightly better off, one's knee is completely shattered, the other has a few broken ribs, and all of them are in immense pain so they're probably passed out."

"I wonder where they came from and why they happen to be in this forest. Very few venture in here unless they are looking for the Amazons," Scarlett mused.

"Scar, the stretchers are done and we have put the men on them. Should we head out?" one of the lieutenants asked. Scarlett shook her head to dispel the lingering thoughts and nodded.

Diana looked up as three Hunters burst into her tent. She was busy planning out the Amazon's next move with her generals and didn't appreciate being interrupted. "What's wrong?" she asked.

"Sorry m'am" one of the Hunters breathlessly said "We don't wish to intrude but General Scar sent us to tell you that she will be bringing back three wounded men, one of them is mortally wounded and they all require healing."

All the generals stood up in alarm. "What! Scar is bringing strangers with no alliance to the Amazons into our camp. This is unacceptable," one of the generals yelled. The tent was immediately filled with loud arguments as the generals shouted at each other, debating the merits of allowing possible strangers into the base.

"Shut up!" Diana yelled. "If Scar thinks that these men can be trusted enough to be brought back, then we will provide aid to them. Am I understood?"

"Yes Diana," everyone chorused.

"Thank you. Lily, you will come with me. By the sound of things both of our skills will be needed to patch these men up."

Scarlett rushed into camp with her hunter on her heels. She was very glad to see Diana and Lily waiting for them by the entrance. "I'll explain later," she gasped "Just help them right now." Diana and Lily gave her a tense nod and showed Hunters where to put the stretchers in the tent.

"Everyone get out," Lily said "If we need your help we will tell you, otherwise stay out. Make sure everyone stays away from this tent and set up a guard."

"Scar, what happened? Why have you brought strange men into our camp?" Diana questioned.

Scarlett gave a brief rundown of things, talking about how the Hunters were on their usual patrol and found the three men in the clearing surrounded by dead Fevior soldiers.

"Diana, come over here now. The one with the stomach wound is fading fast. If you want to save him you need to hurry. I've already healed the other two, but only you can save him," Lily anxiously said.

Diana rushed over to the brown haired soldier with the stomach wound and carefully looked him over. Is he worth it? She wondered. Probably. "Okay, I'll heal him. Just be ready to catch me after I fall." Diana put her hands on the body, noting that even covered in blood the body was beautiful, and sent her magic into the stomach wound. An icy cold spread numbness throughout her entire body as she forced her magic to leave her body and help the injury heal. Opening her eyes just in time to see the muscles knitting together, she collapsed.

Scarlett managed to catch Diana before she hit the ground and laid her in a bed. "She's exhausted herself again... This seems to happen way too often."

Lily snorted, "Well, unfortunately she's the only one with the gift of pulling people back from the brink of no return. I can only heal stuff like their broken knees and ribs."

"Yes, gift or curse, I wonder. She pays heavily every time she heals, unlike you. Hopefully that man was worth the price she paid," Scarlett noted.

Both of them glanced at their friend who was lying still as death, then at the three peacefully slumbering men and sighed.

Hi. Please comment and tell me if this is good or bad and what I can improve on... Thank you!!!
