Diana was furious. The camp was proving to be exceptionally difficult to find and Samuel and Micah had not stopped talking since they left the clearing. She was sorely tempted to leave them to the wolves and laugh all the way to the camp.

"Don't do it." Diana turned her head so fast that she heard the bones in her neck crack to find Zeke smirking at her. "I know," he continued, "Better than anyone the temptation, because I have known them longer than anyone else here. You'll regret it sooner or later. I feel sorry for their wives... She'll either have a lot of patience or a fast hand."

"Why the fast hand?" Diana asked with curiosity.

"To make sure they're quiet occasionally of course."

Diana chuckled.

"Hey Diana!" Samuel's voice broke the quiet sounds of the night. She winced as she turned to glare at him. "Are we there yet?"

"You've asked her that question thirty-seven times," Scarlett snapped. "The answer hasn't changed since you asked her twenty seconds ago."

"How do you know how many times I've asked?"

"Trust me I've counted, and my patience is about to snap. Personally, I think everyone else is about to snap as well."

"You got that right," Lily snorted. Lily found herself wishing that she had decided to stay in her tent for a few more hours with Jay, instead of tagging along with Samuel and Micah. Sensing her thoughts, Jay gave her hand a light squeeze.

"Shush... I hear something!" Diana's urgent tone cut through the arguing. Everyone immediately shut up. In the distance they could hear the tramping of boots through the forest. Diana turned around and signaled for everyone to follow her. They quietly weaved through the forest and the noises got louder. "Should we? They aren't ours you know," Diana asked Lily.

"What? Stop and wait for them to come attack us? Of course not. We should find a better place and then stop. If they were ours, they should know better," Lily replied. "Come, I know a much better place to set up an ambush." She swiftly turned and ran into the shadows. Jay sighed, shook his head and followed suit. Marci and Val sent glares towards Samuel before melting into the darkness. One by one they disappeared into the forest.

Zeke gasped as he entered yet another clearing. Only this one was much larger and in the shadows he could see glints of metal. "What is this place?" he muttered.

"Welcome to my place," Lily announced. "Where traps lurk around every corner and you should watch your step."

"How did you have time to do this?" Samuel asked.

"I did this a few years back," Lily replied, throwing a nasty glare at him. "I come back every few months to make sure that everything is still in working order." The sound of boots grew louder.

"Um, I don't know about you, but I actually want to live through the next few hours. So what do we do?" Micah asked nervously. He knew that it was partly his fault for attracting the soldiers by talking so loudly.
