Diana smirked. Her two best friends were busy training, too distracted to notice her.

"Hello... Anyone home?" she asked.

"Diana!!!"

Diana gasped as all the breath was forced out of her by her two overly protective friends. "Okay, okay... I know you love me but there it no need to kill me after I just woke up."

"Oops," Scarlet and Lily said sheepishly, letting go of Diana. They were so happy to see Diana alive and well that they forgot she needed to breathe.

"Okay you two. Who wants to tell me what occurred during my absence?" Noting the looks the two exchanged, Diana sighed. "Let me guess, the generals have been arguing again and nothing has been done. What are the Amazons going to do without me?"

Lily and Scar internally groaned. If she had already guessed that much, they might as well tell her the rest. " Well, you missed the part where Scar went in to interview the soldiers and guessed that they are in fact from the Resistance. And half of the generals accused Scar of treason because she brought those men into camp," Lily said the last part quickly hoping Diana didn't catch most of it.

"WHAT!"

"I guess she heard that," Lily muttered under her breath.

"Hey Diana! Instead of raging, want to train? I still haven't beaten you yet... It's only a matter of time before you concede that I'm the better swordsman," Scar teased, hoping that Diana would drop the issue.

"Fine, don't except me to forget about this though."

Scar and Lily sighed. Here comes another explosive meeting where Diana will scream at all the generals for not taking charge. "You know," Lily said, "You really need to consider appointing a second in command."

"It's not my fault they keep rejecting every single one of my candidates. Anyway... Did anyone say we could spar?"

Zeke groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. Did I die? he wondered. Must have because I'm so comfortable. A soft chuckle came from his left.

"Oh great sleepy one. Wake up and stop murmuring about dying."

Wait, wait Zeke thought. Who said annoying friends followed you to heaven? More concerned now he tried harder to open his eyes and immediately closed his eyes as a bright light assaulted his eyes.

"Who's that?" Zeke asked.

"Oh... You must have smacked your head really hard against the ground to forget about your best mate. Geez... I'm hurt."

"Shush Samuel. You're so immature."

Zeke tried harder this time to open his eyes. He succeeded and was rewarded by the sight of his two best friends standing over him with equally concerned looks. Blue eyes met green and brown as he chuckled.

"Stop looking at me like I'm dying you two, cheer up. Now give me a status report please."

"WE FOUND THE AMAZONS... WELLACTUALLYMORELIKETHEYFOUNDUSBUTYOUKNOWNOTTHATMUCHOFADIFFERENCE."

"Okay... Slower please this time Samuel. I didn't quite catch all of that."

"Forget it, I'll tell you. Samuel here is too excited after being knocked out by a woman. Basically, Samuel wakes up first and is questioned by a general and then he gets knocked out by another woman. We're not quite sure if this group are the Amazons we've been looking for, but my guess is that they are. They seem to possess uncanny healing abilities. You're not dead."

"Hey!" Samuel protested, "You would be bouncing off the walls as well if you were knocked out by a woman."

"Well at least I was smart enough to fake being asleep so I could figure out where we are..."

"Stop it you two. Well now that we know we're all alive, let's go talk to someone?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Diana laughed. She was so happy to be able to dodge all her responsibilities for a while and just let go. Diana enjoyed the dance of blades, darting in and out, almost as if she and the others were dancing. Their bodies would briefly touch then whirl apart as each sought an opening elsewhere. Hair flew, black, blonde and scarlet red, as the women circled each other.
Diana had the advantage of wielding twin swords. Her blades were light and thin but strong enough to resist the strongest of blows. Scarlett was a juxtaposition of Diana. She fought with twin daggers as long as her forearm. They enabled her to weave in and out of the fight and emphasized her agility. Lily mixed the two forms. She held a sword in the right and a dagger in the left. All three danced around each other, creating a deadly whirlwind of steel.
"Hey guys? I see three astounded men staring at our warm up. You want to surprise them a little?" Diana asked.
"Heck yeah. Does that mean I can show off a bit now?" Scarlett smirked.
"Oh Scar... Always the show off..." Lily mock sighed with a smile on her lips.
"Ready? Go!" Diana shouted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Zeke stared mouth agape. Never in his life had he ever seen such skill in a woman, nevermind three women. Suddenly, one of the women flipped like an acrobat into the air and landed behind both women. The other two didn't seem surprised and adjusted their positions to face her. The three women circling each other in the arena were probably better than most of the soldiers in the Resistance.

"There's that general. The one that interviewed me..."

"Which one is she?"

"The one with the red hair who just did that flip. And the one with blonde hair is the one that knocked me out!!!"

As Zeke watched, the three women suddenly disengaged, putting an end to the perilous dance they had been in. They walked toward him, blank expressions on their faces.

"Ummm, guys... Who is the one in the lead with black hair?

"I have no idea," Micah and Samuel said in unison.

"Would you three please follow me into my tent? I have some questions I would like to ask," Diana said, suppressing a smirk. Taking in the amazed looks of all three men, she guessed that none of them had ever seen a woman fight.

Zeke, Micah, and Samuel looked at each other in resignation and sighed before nodding their heads and following the mysterious women into a tent.
