Everyone glared at Pearl somewhat angrily.
"Okay calm down, Sapphire." Amethyst said as Sapphire still sobbed.
"What if Ruby's right?" Sapphire questioned. "What if it IS too late? What if I never see her again?" Sapphire calmed her tears a bit, but she was still disappointed in herself.
No one knew what to tell her, because no one could really give her reassurance anymore that it would be okay. They lost their new friend, their leader, and soon maybe Earth.
They were all considering going to the Galaxy Warp to take a look at any activity, but even if Gems weren't warping at that moment, what would they do? Garnet would be the only one strong enough to destroy them.
Sapphire looked at everyone, expecting someone to say something but no one did. Finally Steven spoke up.
"Should we look for Ruby?"
"Where would we even start? Who knows where she could've went." Pearl sighed. She was now embarrassed of her oversized nose, so she covered it with her hand to block anyone's view.
"Oh Ruby," Sapphire closed her eye. "If I could've said one more thing to you...I would've said that I was sorry." She attempted to look into the future to see if they would find Ruby. Nothing. No future at all.
My future vision isn't working... It must be because I'm worried, Sapphire thought.
The Gems gave each other concerned looks. They were questioning whether or not if they could get Garnet and Lapis back in the end.

Days passed, still with no sign of Ruby. Sapphire was cold without her fire. Too cold for herself to handle. She would often occupy the white sofa in the living room area, but she wouldn't sleep. She would just lay there and think. Think about the past. Think about the present. But not the future. She was unable to do that.
But she would think about Lapis, and she'd think about Ruby especially.
Steven, Amethyst and Pearl would go to search for Ruby sometimes. They thought it was pointless, but they didn't want to lose hope.
They came back from a search and found Sapphire sitting on the porch, staring into the sunset. Steven went outside to sit with her.
"So...what'cha thinking about?" He asked in an attempt to keep things casual.
"Ruby." Sapphire said flatly and to the point.
"I bet you miss her."
"More than anything."
"We haven't been seeing any Homeworld Gems wandering around, but the warps at the Galaxy Warp are definitely good as new."
"Hmph. I really did screw up this time, didn't I?" Sapphire asked. She took her eye off the sunset and turned to Steven. "What if she went to Homeworld?"
Steven gave no response. He didn't know what to say.
"Steven," Sapphire said softly but shakily.
"Yes?"
"What if she..." Sapphire trembled, gripping the railing tightly. "...was shattered?" Steven's eyes widened.
"W-why would you think that?" Steven asked nervously, hoping she wouldn't say she saw that happening in the future or anything.
"I don't know!" Sapphire snapped. "Who knows what happened to her. Maybe a Homeworld Gem found her and recognized her as 'that Ruby who fused with that Sapphire'." Sapphire started to tear up like she would every day she spent without Ruby.
"Oh Sapphire," Steven said comfortingly, although that could always be possible.
"It doesn't make sense! Ruby can't be without me as long as I can't be without her...and I feel like I'm slowly dying without her." Sapphire closed her eye and tried to calm herself.
"Hey," Steven said, putting a hand on Sapphire's shoulder. She looked at him curiously. "I promise you we'll find her."
The blue Gem hugged her half-human friend tightly.
"Thank you."
