On the second day of Christmas

Once again I was waiting at the table with Blaise and Pansy at breakfast. We waited for Harry to get there first so we could get seats where we could see him better. He looked so happy today. I wonder if it's because of the candle?

I watched him as the owls swooped down. He seemed so pleased when he saw yet another present tied to Hedwig. He once again gave her a treat before she flew away. The paper and the string did the same thing as before. I watched him intently as he read the note I attached before I have it to Hedwig.

Day two!

That was all this time. I decided from now on I was only going to number them. It added more mystery and lowered the risk of him recognising my handwriting. He unwrapped it slowly and put the paper and the note into his pocket once again. Pansy seemed surprised by all the charmwork. I hadn't told her how I was going to wrap them, and she was only with me when I was buying supplies so she doesn't even know what half of the gifts are. Blaise was pretending he was uninterested, but I know he was secretly really intrigued.

Harry took the lid off of the slightly larger box and took out today's gift. I had gotten all the candies I had seen him eat or heard him mention more than once. There was a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, four Chocolate Frogs, two packets of Drooble's Best Blowing Gum and some Fizzing Whizzbees. I had also gone through the effort to get him four Mars Bars, which I knew to be one of his favourite muggle sweets. He seemed delighted. He packed them all back up carefully, looking at the Mars Bars with glee. He shrank the box and placed it into his backpack. He kept that smile on his face for the rest of the day.

"You're doing good Dray."

I saw Harry eating those sweets through the day in classes and during meals, his smile as sweet as the things he was eating.
