12 Days of Christmas || Drarry

On the fifth day of Christmas

Pansy had, thankfully, given up on asking what the gifts were, so when the owls swooped down today she didn't even bother asking, simply watched in anticipation, much like myself. Harry has this look of unadulterated excitement in his eyes.

We locked eyes for a moment, and I knew he would recognise us starting I I didn't look away, so as calmly as possible, I turned to Pansy.
"Pansy we made eye contact. We made eye contact. Oh, Merlin, he's going to know it's me now. Great Salazar this is going to ruin everything. He'll stop opening them!" Pansy rolled her eyes.
"He's already looked away and he's halfway through unwrapping. If you don't look back you're going to miss his reaction." I quickly turn my head back towards the boy.

I try not to look so excited as he opens the box. I knew he never really had toys as a kid (Or so I heard), so I decided to give him my favourite one from when I was a kid.

Day five!
This used to be mine when I was younger. It's yours now ♥.

He kept the tag on the table this time, and he kept looking at it as he played with the gentle material of the stuffed green dragon. With the box safely vanished he continued his meal, the toy on his lap all the while. It smelt like my Mother. That was my favourite smell from childhood. It smells like the only hugs I get. I don't think he'll quite get it. I think he'll just smell raspberries and lavender, but I'll know, so it's fine. He seemed so... Touched by it? As if no one had ever given him something of theirs on their own will before.

He had this twinkle in his eye all day. He also kept the dragon in his arms the whole day. He refused to put it away, even in class. That resulted in a few detentions. When I heard Granger lecturing him on it I heard him say 'No one has ever thought to give me something like this 'Mione. I'm not letting it out of my sight, even if it's just for today. I'll keep it in my bed tomorrow, but for today my favourite smell is raspberry and lavender.'
