He was late to breakfast today. He didn't show up until half an hour after the mail arrived. Hedwig sat on a vacant chair, waiting to give Harry his present. She was patient and once Harry sat she offered her leg. I had to make these last night. I couldn't make them when I started, as they wouldn't be good anymore. He unwrapped the box. It was a blue Tupperware. He seemed confused.

"Is that why you were late for coffee last night? You were baking again? I swear you were supposed to be a Hufflepuff."
"Hey! I broke into a house elf's kitchen, after curfew, and stole said house elf's ingredients just to make cookies. I'm evil. I'm cunning. I'm a Slytherin. What the hell even are Hufflepuffs?!" I said the last sentence a bit too loud (on purpose), and some Hufflepuff I didn't really recognize stood up and said with conviction :
"Hufflepuffs are good finders!" I simply rolled my eyes, trying not to smile.

Harry was obviously given a strong sense of nostalgia when he pulled out chocolate chip cinnamon cookies. I didn't know how well made they were, but when I asked a Hufflepuff this morning to try one she thought they were good. Maybe I'm getting better at this baking thing? I do spend one night a week baking with some Hufflepuffs for our house group. (Hufflepuffs and Slytherins meet once a week. It's like a support group. We just have a long-running joke where we pretend we don't know what each other's houses are, or do. So far we're doing well hiding it.).

Harry but into one of the cookies and put the lid back on. He seemed to rather enjoy them. I managed to get them to smell exactly like his candle.

"You're doing so well Draco. Honestly, I think you're more of a fluffball than Luna, and she comes to the meetings every week. She's a Ravenclaw and she comes to help Slytherins at the support group. Truthfully, she is a wonder, but it's more of a wonder that you have managed to outshine her softness." I punch Blaise on the shoulder, nowhere near as hard as I want to, but not gently either. He should shut his mouth...

At dinner, I saw Harry eating more of the cookies and simply refusing to share. The pout he wore when Weasel stole one was the cutest thing I've ever seen. If I happened to save that as a mental picture I would lie about it though. I cannot be further compared to a Hufflepuff, no matter how much I like them.
