On the fourth day of Christmas

I followed the same routine of attempting to get to breakfast as shortly after Potter as possible in order to get good seats to judge his reaction. Pansy had been bothering me since lunch the previous day to tell her what I had in store for today. Somehow I had yet to crack under her rather impressive glare. Blaise had even asked once what it was.

Pansy had been telling me that Granger and the weasel had been running about trying to discover who it was sending the gifts. Hermione may be a bright girl, but she wouldn't think to see if it was me. She hasn't seen the way (to quote Pansy) 'the way my eyes sparkle with adoration when I see him. Or the way my entire body language change when he was so much as mentioned. Or the way I could (and have) talk about him for hours on end.'.

They would never think it was me.

Today's gift wasn't as thoughtful as the others, but I think he may enjoy it all the same. Three books. The first was a book filled with drills, games and tips for a seeker. The second was a book written by an Auror, it was filled with different charms and how to use them. It was buried deep in the Malfoy manors library, and I had kept it with me. It reminded me too much of him to leave there gathering dust. The third was a book filled with advanced DADA spells, also written by an Auror. I really hope he does like them...

As Hedwig swoops down six pairs of eyes were trained in the package. He unwrapped it as carefully as the rest. He kept the tag reading the day and the paper, as usual. He pulled the books out of the box, a look of joy filling his eyes when he read what they were. I think everyone could see that two of the books were rather old, yet well looked after. He put two of the books in his bag and began to read the book as he ate, making sure to be super careful of spillage.

"I can't see what the books are from here. What are they?" Blaise asked. He was still trying to feign a lack of interest, but we weren't believing it.
"It's a DADA book written by an Auror, from the manor, a charms book written by an Auror also from the manor, and a Quidditch seeker book I bought in Hogsmeade."

Blaise and Pansy both seemed impressed. No one had managed to get Harry to pick up a textbook on his own accord, yet there he sat reading a charms book.

When Draco went into the library to study later that day he saw Harry huddled in the corner, nose deep in one of the books Draco has given him, the other two sat by his feet. If anyone said Draco had stared for a while and smiled at the sight, he would have said he didn't. He totally knows he did; He would do it again too if it meant seeing the way Harry's eyes wrinkled with interest.
