Harry was in time to breakfast today and didn't look half as tired. I think he stayed up watching the fireflies the first night I have him them, but I think last night he used them the way I intended him to. Hedwig swooped down from the rafters. He had the most honey-sweet smile as he fed her before she flew away. I think he's gotten over the initial shock of getting so many gifts.

Pansy was sat next to me, but Blaise was sat further down the table with Crabbe and Goyle. I don't know why I've never used their first names... I think maybe their surnames fit better. I digress.

Day eleven!
Mix in 300ml of water, one egg and bake for 15 minutes at gas mark 6

As Harry put the note and paper in his pocket he removed the lid from the box. He pulled out a jar. The jar was layered with varied coloured powders with chocolate chips at the top. It was the recipe I had used for the chocolate and cinnamon cookies. I know he used to cook a lot when he was younger and I heard Dean talking to Seamus about how he wanted to try baking on his own. I thought the first thing he'd want to make alone should be easy, but good. He seemed to like the cookies, but I had the idea when I made the candle. I just didn't work out the recipe until I made the cookies.

He puts it in his bag carefully and eats his breakfast, once again having a jokey conversation with his friends. I saw him eating (slightly burnt) cinnamon cookies at lunch, sharing with his friends and having a good time. He must have made them before the study hour. His smile was wider that evening than it was in the morning, and I could swear I saw a familiar green dragon and a pink paper swan in his robe pocket.
