Devil's Eyes

The eyes are the windows to the soul,
Shining like liquid metal, they reveal all.
Mercury silver, and moss green; aqua blue, clear and bright.
Liquid amber, and earthy brown,
Like soil containing the seeds of true feelings.
But what about those with no soul, what do they show?
Your devil's eyes, the only light reflecting from the  hellfire you scorch me with.
The eyes seen in nightmares,
Staring back from the shadows.
Blinking back at you in the mirror,
My eyes, once filled with tears, lined with the ashes of the fire I have risen from,
The devil's eyes meet phoenix eyes,
No longer fearful reflecting your hellfire, but made of it, fierce and burning hot.
Filled with fire and coals.
No longer the windows to my wounded soul, but instead to my fiery core.
The reflection of your fear shining in their light.
The eyes of a monster, burnt beyond recognition.
Risen from the ashes of the one you tried to destroy,
Coming back stronger, burning hotter.
