The Unfamiliarity of Bodies will Be Cured by the Familiarity of Souls

Staring into the eyes of an empty skull,

Dust engraved into the cracks of the bone.

Death does not care who you are,

A genius or a man of mind so dull.

He will come for all, laying the body on a bed of stone.

The stars will burn in the night sky.

Pinpricks of light on a sheet of black velvet.

The snow will still fall and my love will still shine for thee.

Eventually, through life and death,

My heart beat will echo throughout the universe.

Calling out to the rhythm within your own chest.

No matter the absence of words,

Or the unfamiliarity of bodies.

I will return to you,

Through it all.
