Listen very closely and you just might make it out alive, that is of course if you can hear them. They slither like shadows across the playground you call your mind while they consume your thoughts. These thoughts at night occur most often when you can't sleep as everything terrifying you have ever witnessed invades your mind. In turn your eyes play tricks on you causing you to blink into the darkness only for the darkness to stare back, yet that is not all.
Soon you hear a ringing that pierces through the air, a loud ringing that becomes all you can hear and as quickly as it comes it's gone. Leaving you very still as if frozen by an unseen force. Thoughts come to mind of what it possibly could be, but as always this problem gets pushing into the back of your mind and becomes forgotten.
The question, What is hidden in the silence? can only be answered as this. We close our mouths to sleep and wait until we don't wake up. As they lower your body into the ground, all that there will be is silence coming from your mouth. After all silence is what we all become, is it not?
