Hey Hey you all! I ordered a new laptop, but it arrived after I left my apartment for the holidays. So basically long story short, I freaked out, had a neighbor pick it up, and now I am at my parents writing to you all from their computer.
Who is ready for a new chapter?!

Kay POV:
I toss and turn all night waiting for the morning light to come. Halvar has agreed to take me back to the drop ship as soon as light hits the cave. I am relieved that I won't have to be trapped with a grounder; however, he did have one condition: he has to stay with me. I argued with him throughout the night, and I tried to tell him that the leaders would not allow him to step foot in our camp, but he didn't listen. Actually he fell asleep while I was talking to him. I get to go back though, and I guess that is all that matters.
I sit up in my bed and look over at Halvar. He is still sleeping, so I quietly stand up. I didn't want to wake him up so I slowly walked past him and towards the entrance of the cave. I looked out past the trees and marveled in the light orange hue of the sun starting to rise. A grin spreads aross my face and I turn around to go get Halvar, but to my surprise I see him no more than five feet away from me.
"Oh." I gasp. "I was just coming to get you. The sun has risen, so it is time for us to leave." I look at him holding two packs. He walks over to me and gently puts a pack on my back.
"I've brought you a few things to bring back to your camp." He says in a soft voice. I look down.
"Thanks." I mumble. I turn away from him and head out of the cave. I start to walk into the forest, looking behind me every once in awhile to see if Halvar was still following. Each time I looked back he was looking at me with a smirk on his face. I stopped after about an hour of walking. "I don't recognize any of this." I run my fingers through my hair to let out my frustration. "I think we may be going the wrong way." I hear a chuckle come out of Halvar's mouth. I snap my head towards him. "What is so funny?"
"I was wondering how long it would take you to realize that you have no idea where you are going." He smiled. I pouted and crossed my arms.
"If you knew we were going in the wrong direction this entire time, then why didn't you say anything?" I asked.
"You are always yelling at me that you don't want my help, so I decided to listen to you." He said, a knowing smirk on his face.
I glared at him. "So what was this whole thing?" I asked. "A ploy to get me to see how much I actually need you?"
Halvar chuckled again. "No. Not at all." He paused. "Is that you saying that you need my help?" He smirked again.
I groaned. "No!" I snap at him. "In fact," I grab my pack and put it on my back. "I am going to make my way back to the drop ship without any of your help because you are going to go back to the cave!" I started to walk away from Halvar. I heard crunching of leaves behind me. "Halvar, I told you I can do this by myself, I am not a child!" He didn't respond, but the footsteps continued. "Go back to the cave I don't want your help." The foot steps sounded like they were getting closer. I was so angry with him, so I decided to turn around and puynch him right in the face. I stopped and twirled around, only to be met with a pair of eyes that were completely unfamiliar to me. My eyebrows furrowed. "Who are you? Where is Halvar?" The masked figure didn't answer, but instead grabbed my arms and covered my mouth. He spoke in tongue that I did not understand. I tried to struggle, but soon everything went black.
"Kay...Kay..." I heard a faint voice off in the distance. A soft touch warmed my body. "Kay, are you hurt?" The voice is low and laced with worry. "I am so sorry, I have failed." My eyes start to flutter open and I see two very distinct eyes looking down at me. The worry in those eyes dissipated as I looked upon them.
"Halvar?" I asked. "Where are we?" I tried to get up but a pain pulsated throughout my head. I winced and Halvar took my head in his hands.
"You are hurt... This is all my fault. I am so sorry." Halvar couldn't even look at me.
"I don't understand what is going on? What happened? Where are we?" Halvar helped me up, so I could see him better. He was still avoiding my gaze.
"Do you remember how I told you that some of my people were going to try and take you?" He said sternly.
"Yes, but you refused to tell me why." I said bluntly.
He let out a sigh of frustration. "It was not the right time for me to tell you about who you are."
"How about now? Is now the time to tell me?" I snap at him.
He shakes his head fervently. "No, you are not ready to kn-" I punch him in the face and a searing pain shoots up my arm.
"Son of a bitch! That hurts... so much." Halvar just stares at me, wide-eyed. "Would you shut it with your cryptic bullshit. Obviously keeping this information from me didn't keep me any safer than if you would have told me. We still got captured!" I snapped at him.
After a long pause he responds, "Did you just... punch me?"
"That is what you got from what I just said?" I asked dumbfounded. "Yes I just punched you because you were being stubborn and frustrating." Halvars look of disbelief turns into a smirk. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked, confused.
"You punched me! You caught me off guard and punched me!" He laughed. "You are stronger than I had thought."
"Why are you laughing?" I crossed my arms. "This is serious! We are captured and you have yet to tell me why." A pout covered my face. I sat there glaring at him, but he continued to smile.
"This is good. This is very good. I can amazed that you have improved so much in such little time." He told me. My eyebrows furrowed even more.
"I am going to punch you again if you don't start answering my question Halvar!" My glared deepens. He throw his hands in the air and laughs harder.
"Oh my okay Kay. Calm down." He laughs more. "I will tell you." His face quickly hardens. "As I told you before, our commander has been dreaming of you for generations."
I nod, "Yes I remember."
"Legend has it that the first commander wa confused by her dreams and asked our gods what these dreams meant and why they were dreaming about you." He looked at me and then continued. "The gods answered back telling our first commander that one day there will be a young woman who would come to our land from a far away place. Her people will seem strange and her way of living even stranger. She was told not to fear you, for you were our savior. The gods told her that a strange woman from a strange place would bear a child, and that child would grow up to change the world as we know it. The commander sketched your face, and passed it on to each commander. We have been waiting for you to come for 100 years, and you have finally arrived. But some people, they do not want the world to change. They enjoy their lives and their greed and their power. They wish our savior not to be born. That is why you are in danger. That is why I was sent to protect you." He pauses before he continues. "There is a group of us who still believe in the first commander's words, and we have been taught from a young age the importance of your coming. Once word got out that you have arrived, my people have been scouring the lands to find you. I wa tasked to seek you out and protect you." Halvar finished and waited for my response.
I gave him a blank stare. "So Lincoln is a part of your group of believers?" I asked. He nodded his head. "And you lunatics believe that my child is your savior? Do you understand how crazy that sounds?" Halvar comes closer to me and grabs onto my shoulders. He looks deep into my eyes.
"Explain your face? Your name? How did we know this prior to ever seeing you? I believe that the child you bear will change not only my world, but your world too. And I will protect you until I die."
