Leah's POV.
When I wake up I smell pancakes. I go downstairs to the kitchen and see Zach making breakfast. I ask, "Why are you up so early?"
"I woke up not long ago to change Caleb's diaper. Then I thought I would make us some breakfast," Zach replies.
I respond, "You're making breakfast?"
"Yeah," Zach answers.
"And you got up to change my baby's diaper?" I asked a little surprised.
"Of course I did," Zach replies, "What are friends for?"
"You didn't have to do this," I exclaim.
Zach replies, "I wanted to."
I respond, "Well thank you."
"You're like my sister so anytime you need a hand, I'm here," Zach says.
I reply, "Thanks Zach."
Zach smiles then turns the oven off and lays out the pancakes on a plate and says, "Well breakfast is ready."
"Where's everybody else?" I ask.
"I don't know," Zach replies, "When I woke up the only people that were here were me, you, and Caleb."
"Did you try calling them?" I ask.
Zach responds, "I called them and they said they had some things to take care of but would be home soon."
"So they decide that the day after we get out of the hospital that they're gonna go M.I.A.?" I complain.
Zach laughs, "I guess their not too worried about us."
"I guess not," I say as the baby starts crying. I walk over to Caleb in his baby swing, which is currently the only thing we have for him besides a car seat, clothes, a baby blanket, and a stuffed animal. Zach walks over to Caleb as well.
"I think he's hungry," Zach says as he looks at me with a grin on his face.
I furrow my eyebrows, "I hope you're not thinking your gonna see me breast feed him."
Zach replies, "Hey, the boy's gotta eat."
I gave him an evil look before picking Caleb up and walking over to the fridge to get some breast milk I put in a bottle the night before. I laugh at Zach, "Ha. I've got a bottle."
Zach sighs, "Well it was worth a shot."
"I thought you said you think of me like a sister. Would you really want to see your sisters boobs?" I smirk.
"It's hard for me to imagine my actual sister having boobs," Zach replies.
I furrow my eyebrows, "How did you know Caleb was hungry anyways?"
"My mom taught me some things about babies when Reese was born, and I guess I'm just good at it," Zach responds.
I exclaim, "Well that's good then. That means you can help take care of this baby."
"I think I'll leave that mostly up to you and Jonah, but I'm cool being the uncle," Zach says.
I reply, "I'm good with that." Zach turns on the tv. The news is on and we hear the reporter say, "The guys responsible for shooting three people inside their home last Friday have been caught. Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson, and Zach Herron from the boy band, Why Don't We, were shot last Friday night inside their house. The four men responsible for the shooting have been identified as Snyder Kimmins, Blaze Carmichael, Drake Ransom, and Tick-Tock Manson. All 4 men are now behind bars." Zach turns the tv off before the reporter can say anything else.
"I'm so sorry Zach," I respond remembering the night I met those guys from the gang, "It's all my fault. I wish I'd never met Dax."
Zach replies, "It's ok. It wasn't your fault and everyone's ok. Plus look on the bright side, you got Caleb from all of this."
I smile looking at Caleb in my arms, "That is true. I've got Caleb."
Zach scoots in beside me and puts his arm around my shoulders, "And you've got me."
We smile at each other then I exclaim, "What am I gonna tell Caleb when he gets older and wants to know what happened to his father? I don't want him to think of his father as such a bad guy. I mean Dax was bad, but he wasn't all that bad. He could be sweet and considerate. Dax used to sneak me out of work, especially on days where I was stressed out, and he and I would sneak off places to be together. Dax would stick up for me at work, he would check up on me all the time, and he always knew how to make me have a good time. Even when he didn't have any money, he would find someway to make whatever we were doing fun. Dax, I hate him, but I also loved him at one point. Dax is the father of my child, no matter how he came to be. I hope Caleb will be able to see that."
Zach replies, "I'm sure he will."
"Thanks for letting me ramble on about Dax. I just really wanted to get that off my chest. Don't tell Jonah any of that though, Jonah was so furious with Dax." I respond.
Zach comments, "You can't really blame him though. Jonah liked you before you and Dax started dating. He wanted so badly to ask you out but you had just gotten rejected by me and he was nervous that you would say no, but then you got with Dax. When you and Dax started dating it really upset Jonah, and that night at the party when Dax almost raped you, Jonah brought out a side of himself he hadn't even seen before. When Dax actually did rape you Jonah felt like he failed, like his one job was to keep you safe and he failed. After he got home from being bailed out of jail, he told me and the guys that as long as he was alive he would keep you safe. Jonah loves you Leah."
"Woah. I didn't know all of that," I respond.
"Don't tell Jonah I told you all of that." Zach says.
I reply, "Don't worry I won't." Caleb finishes his bottle so Zach and I put him back in his swing. As we finish putting Caleb in his swing the boys and gurls come in.
Jack shouts, "Come on Leah it's time to go home."
I ask, "What?"
Jonah replies, "We bought the house next door for you, me, and the baby to move into."
"You did?" I ask, "When?"
"Closed on it 10 minutes ago," Jonah replies excitedly.
Corbyn says, "We also got furniture and stuff for the baby. We got a moving truck so we can go ahead and start moving y'all in."
"Woah slow down. Y'all bought a house? But we already have this one," I exclaim.
Corbyn answers, "Yeah but y'all need your own house."
"That way our sleep won't have to suffer with your baby," Jack smirks.
"Y'all really bought the house next door?" I ask still in shock.
Jonah grabs my hand and says, "Well let's just go see for ourselves."
